Our first date in 2012 was to see the first Hobbit film - instant connection! We fell in love in 2013 when we went camping and to an opera in the same night and watched a meteor shower until 3am. In 2014 we got our domestic partnership agreement to make our commitment legal. In 2018 we took the big leap and got married at City Hall with our parents, siblings, and nieces and nephews and celebrated with four hours of private karaoke!
As humans, we are compassionate, open-minded, curious, sensitive, adventurous, supportive, and affectionate. We surround ourselves with diverse people who have these same core values and we are lucky enough to have wonderful parents who have modeled these traits for us. Parenthood will change us - like it changes everyone - and we hope it makes us even more empathetic, patient, and generous. While there are always bumps in any road, we know we can face anything as a family if we hold on to these traits and what we know to be true: that all you need is love.
Our home is three bedroom Tudor house in a sweet little village that shares a border with Queens in NYC. We walk 10 minutes to the train that takes us 30 minutes to get to 34th Street in Manhattan. Our favorite yoga studio, takeout sushi, and park are a 5 minute walk in one direction and the library, Mexican takeout, and recreation center with a pool and playground are 15 minutes in the other direction. There are dozens of families walking around on bright Sunday mornings when we grab coffee and bagels from our favorite local businesses.
