Ryan and Amanda met during our freshmen year at Ohio Northern University in 2008. We lived down the hall from each other and mutual friends introduced us. Ryan asked Amanda out on their first date in the dorm lobby while waiting for the pizza man to arrive (thank goodness he was late because Ryan was nervous!) After our sophomore year, Ryan moved back to Columbus, OH. We kept our relationship going strong even through long distance. In January of 2012, Ryan proposed to Amanda in front of our closest friends. Just a few months after graduating from college we got married in Chicago on September 20th, 2014.
Together we love to cook, go on road trips, gather with our family and friends, explore new cities and challenge ourselves with something new each year. At the same time, we also appreciate things like rainy days, coffee dates, taking our dog, Rocky, for walks, going to the movies, game nights and trying ultimately to treat each other with love and respect.
We are ready to give our unconditional love to a child and expand our family through the miracle of adoption!
Ryan here. I wanted to take a moment to share with you that I was adopted by my parents when I was born. One of my sisters, Audrey, was adopted as well. Growing up my mom and dad always made sure that I understood how special it was that I was adopted. They were always open with my sister and I about our adoptions and we took time each day to pray for our birth mothers. It is because I was given this opportunity in my life that I decided at a young age that I would want to adopt a child of my own. I would love the opportunity to give a child all of the experiences and opportunities that I was given as a child because of my adoption. When my wife and I started dating she was inspired by my sister and my stories. I told her that I wanted to adopt in the future and she loved the idea and has always been supportive! Please know that we will always keep you in our hearts and prayers just as my family did while we were growing up!
