We met in 2008 on a date organized by a mutual friend. We quickly discovered we had many things in common, such as a love of travel, sports, and food. As we continued to get to know one another, we realized there was something special in our relationship, that it was "meant to be." We were married in 2011 on Keiki Beach in Kauai, Hawaii, in a quiet ceremony.
We live in a bustling neighborhood in Seattle, Washington, with our beloved dog Maisie. We both have a strong desire to adopt and want nothing more than to provide a loving home to a child that we can raise together.
As two busy professionals, we understand that a balance between life and work is important to providing the nurturing environment that a child needs. As a result, Matt has stepped back from his career so that we can provide a welcoming home to any child that we have the privilege of caring for.
We live in a lovely 4 BR house on top of a hill. We cannot wait to share our neighborhood (one of the safest in Seattle) with its many parks and community events. We live one block away from a beautiful park and playground and just down the street from a wonderful elementary school where we one day hope to walk our child every morning! We are immensely grateful for what our city offers and feel it is important to give back through volunteerism and charity for the betterment of all in our community. These are values we hope to instill in our child.
I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin before attending college and eventually moving to Seattle. I work in technology and enjoy travelling, hiking, running, skiing, cooking, community service, reading, and spending time with Milah and our Airedale terrier Maisie. My father recently moved to Seattle, and we have traveled with him on a number of adventures to places such as Europe and Japan. I love living in Seattle and exploring all the beautiful places around us.
I am a lifelong resident of the Northwest, born in Moscow, Idaho before moving to the Washington Coast, and then Seattle in the second grade. As a primary care doctor at a local practice, I love the challenge and responsibility of my work; it is with gratitude that I approach my career given the trust that others place in me for their care. In my free time, I enjoy running, biking, hiking, volunteering, going to the opera and symphony, cooking, and spending quiet (and sometimes, not-so-quiet!) weekends with Matt and Maisie.
