Random Things ;-)
Random title, eh? These were the things on my mind this evening so here it goes…
We’ve had a wonderful week so far. The kids and I did a nature walk on Monday and then made nature crowns today. L loves drawing so the nature journal is a big hit with her, and G loves collecting treasures so making the crowns was a favorite for him.
I had the somewhat rare opportunity of having G fall asleep on me during quiet time today so I snapped a picture. I love the sweet cuddles and look forward to lots of baby snuggles again.
I also thought it would be fun to show our kid’s favorite meal – Turkey, Cheese, Crackers, Carrots, and “Cucumber Cookies” (Sliced cucumbers). They ask for this meal the most. Can you blame them? It’s pretty yummy.
Kendrick is great at keeping in shape, and finds running to be a blast. Weirdo! Haha – it’s not for everyone *cough, me*. ;-) He usually runs 5-6 miles 2-3 times a week with some friends at 5:30am. I call that commitment! He amazes me.
I’ve been getting better at exercising, finally! I had found it hard postpartum after G was born because I have disc issues in my lower back that prevent me from doing anything high impact as I’m continuing to heal. Recently in our local “Buy Nothing” group, someone gave me a recumbent bike!
I’ve been doing:
-2, 30min bike workouts/week
-Walking around 3 miles with a friend 1/week
-And either try to get to a yoga or barre class, or attend a free workout group at my church 1/week
-Then any hiking with the kids is extra
I’m only 30, but trying to be mindful about taking better care of my body because I want to set a good example for my kids, as well as be able to be active with them. Being a wife and mom is my greatest joy, and Kendrick and I are staying active and healthy to make sure we are around for our kids. Have any questions for us?
