Who We Are
We have been married for 13 years. Together, we have built a life that is family-centered. We celebrate our holidays and birthdays with grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. We explore nature with our children with trips to the zoo, the beach, and hikes through the woods. We enjoy warm summer days at our parent’s lake home and cool summer nights watching for shooting stars and catching fireflies. We have fun together, sledding, building snow castles and warming up with a cup of hot cocoa in the winter. We make it a priority to gather for dinner around our table in the evening, sharing bedtime stories, prayers and snuggles each night.
Our sons (ages 7 and 4) are encouraged to explore their interests, so they enjoy music lessons and playing sports. We are teaching them the importance of kindness. We want them to understand that the most significant thing in this world is family. For that reason, we recently moved back to Western New York from Atlanta, Georgia, and hope to continue to expand our family through adoption.
We both always knew that adoption was an option for us. We were familiar with adoption as Lisa’s cousin was adopted. We have become even more familiar with adoption as our nephew was adopted as an infant eight years ago. This experience has emphasized to us the importance of being open about and celebrating a child’s adoption.
We will love and care for this child, and teach him or her about their beautiful adoption story, encourage him or her to dream big, and completely support those dreams to make sure that those dreams become a reality.
We are fortunate to have a strong and loving family and we cherish the opportunity to welcome another child into our lives. We envision our sons doting on a younger brother or sister. We can imagine them building forts, riding bikes, doing craft projects and exploring and learning about all this world has to offer, together, as they grow.
As a family, we spend our time outdoors as much as possible. We find enjoyment playing in the sand and waves at the beach, walking through nature trails around our neighborhood, splashing in the puddles on a rainy day, visiting the playgrounds close to our home and listening to concerts in our town park. When we can’t get outside, we explore the world through stories and books, and homemade science experiments.
We value education and believe that children must not just be taught but must experience life. We love to explore museums, zoos, aquariums, cooking, trying new foods and spending time with friends that honor different cultures and traditions. We just enjoy being together and laughing!
It’s not just the four of us! Our extended family is within driving distance. We have great grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins that we see often to celebrate life’s small and big moments. Cheering on the kids at sporting events, blowing out the candles on birthday cakes, enjoying warm cinnamon buns on Christmas morning, hunting for eggs on Easter, taking boat rides and BBQing chicken on the Fourth of July.
We prioritize spending time together as a family. Our entire extended family is excited to welcome and love another child!

While the majority of our family lives close by, Lisa’s brother lives out of state. We had a surprise visit from him this weekend and we had a blast hanging out. We played an epic game of kickball (even Mimi joined in) and took a day trip to enjoy a train ride to see the changing fall leaves.
Making memories together is what it’s all about!

Fall is in the air, which means one thing - football! Today, a perfect Fall day was the back drop for us to host family for a football party. There’s nothing better than enjoying time together and a home opener win!
