We met and started dating in college. A west coast road trip is a moment we both recall as a sign that the other might be “the one.”
After college, our jobs took us apart but we worked hard to make a long distance relationship thrive. Two years later we decided to put roots down together.
Luckily we both got new jobs within a few months and started saving for our engagement and wedding together, but Erik surprised Kathleen with a beautiful engagement weekend.
We were married a little over a year later with all of our close family and friends to help us celebrate.
Since then we have been building a life with friends, family, and our silly dog. We also love adventure and travel both around the Pacific Northwest and farther away from home.
Now we are ready for the next adventure of becoming parents! We have always imagined adoption as a wonderful way to welcome a child into our happy supportive home.
We have a cozy house with three bedrooms and a fenced back yard.
We are in a residential neighborhood, but we like that we can also walk to the grocery store, coffee shops, restaurants and multiple parks. We are friendly with our neighbors.
In the summer, we also enjoy spending time at a summer cabin that Erik's dad and grandfather built and on our small power boat.
I had a happy childhood in Northern California. I was a good student and passionate about practicing ballet. I was and am still close with my baby brother and friends.
I enjoy and am challenged by my work. Outside work I like taking exercise classes and reading. I also enjoy exploring nature and traveling to new places with Erik.
My parents live in California. They are very excited to be first time grandparents and host us and the grandkids for “beach vacations.”
Adoption is a path to motherhood I have long considered. I will give a child all the unconditional love, support and cuddles I can.
I was born and raised in a small town in the same home that my parents still live in. It is a great place to raise a family and I made many lifelong friends in the public school system.
One of the things I really enjoy is playing board games with friends. In an age when people barely look up from their phone, it can be a hugely fun way to connect with people you care about. I also enjoy taking care of and spending time in our backyard. Lastly, I love being on the water and want to recreate the great memories I have of exploring the great Pacific Northwest in boats with our future children. I want to raise children who understand how luckily we are to be alive on this beautiful planet and the responsibilities that come with it.
Together Kathleen and I have a lot of love to give. The more we have learned about adoption the more it has felt like the right choice to me.
