Hi! We’re Samantha & Mark. To start off, we’d like to say thank you for considering adoption and choosing to get to know us a little more. We are so very excited to expand our family and share the love and joy we have for each other.
Mark and i met back in the summer 2010 through a mutual friend gathering. We spent the afternoon talking and laughing and really hit it off. We hung out a few times after that day and started officially dating the end of that year.
We moved in together 2 years later into a two bedroom apartment complex in the suburbs. In 2015 we decided to go big or go home. We bought our first house, adopted our dog, Gauge, and got engaged all within 4 months!
We got engaged in Lake Placid on top of Mount Jo overlooking Heart lake. Gauge was with us and made it up that mountain with ease, as i was not so graceful. It was the first mountain we had ever climbed together, and the views from the top were breathtaking. Mark put so much though into our engagement. He packed a tripod with a remote with him, set it up as if we were just taking a family photo. The next thing i realize is him down on one knee asking me to marry him.
We got married in 2017 in Ellicottville, New York, which is one of our favorite places to escape to. It is a small little ski village but there are so many things to do in the town. Since then we’ve spent some time traveling to different places, making improvements to our home, and spending time with people who are near and dear to us.
While much has changed, one thing that has stayed constant throughout our entire relationship is our shared dream of growing our family. We both consider ourselves to be incredibly lucky to have found each other. We can’t wait to share our lives with a little one and support them as we’ve supported each other with the help of all our friends and family!
We purchased our current home in 2018 and was recently completely remodeled. Our house has three bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and a full basement, so the baby will have its own nursery and its own playroom once they get older. We have a very big backyard with a large patio that one day can hold a play set.
Our neighborhood has many families with small children so the baby will be able to grow up with neighborhood friends. Our street is a dead end so it’s a perfect spot to learn how to ride a bike for the first time or play a round of street hockey (game on!)
We’re very close to my favorite store, Target, restaurants, and a top rated school system. Our family is within walking distance to us so the baby will be able to grow up with their cousins!
Our neighborhood is one of 4 in the area that does beggars night Trick or Treating instead of Halloween! We have started the tradition of having all our family and friends over to take part in the fun of parading around the neighborhood, and get their fix of candy and hot apple cider!
