Amy does not run, but loves to cook and bake new and interesting recipes (Tom also loves to cook and bake). These are homemade wontons.
Tom also participated in the Men's Health Urban-athalon.
Tom and Amy also love to take on DIY projects together, like this dip-dyed nightside table...
Tom loves to run, usually by himself but sometimes in races. This is a pic of him participating in a church fundraiser run.
Amy has been collecting PEZ dispensers since she was a kid. Here she is at the PEZ Museum in Connecticut!
Who We Are
Amy and Tom met in 2008 while both working at the same magazine in New York. Tom is an editor and Amy is an art director - truly the perfect match!
He was drawn to her style and confidence; she was drawn to his friendliness and intelligence.
Together we love to travel (we took our first trip together to Europe in 2009), cook exotic foods and try every new restaurant in the area, listen to jazz and indie music, visit art museums, and work on DIY projects.
It was on one of our trips – this one to Savannah, Georgia – that Tom proposed (spoiler: Amy said yes). We got married in 2012 and honeymooned in New Zealand, where Amy had lived for three years after college.
We’ve never stopped traveling, even if it’s as simple as a long weekend down the shore.
Always creative, always curious, we look forward to sharing these special moments with our first child.
In New Jersey, Memorial Day is the official kick off to “shore season”, when the beaches open. We’re going to drive down the shore on Friday for our first annual beach trip, since it will be in the mid-80s. Hope everyone has a relaxing, reflective Memorial Day. Wishing everyone a great holiday weekend and a happy summer to come.
Watching our niece at her gymnastics showcase today reminded me of the joy of playing as a child. (I played numerous sports when I was growing up, but baseball was always my favorite; I used to pretend I was in the movie The Sandlot when I would get together with my friends on local fields.) I’m so excited to share these kinds of moments with our child!
I’m looking forward to reading bedtime stories to our child, and instilling in them the love of reading I had when I was a child. I loved going to the library with my mom, choosing five books a week, and racing through them. I started reading at the same age as my brother (who is a year and a half older) – that’s how excited I was to read! My favorite stories I can’t wait to read with our child are: the Eloise series, Marigold Bakes a Cake, Dr. Seuss, Berenstein Bears, and Where the Sidewalk Ends. I’ve already started a library for our future child.
