So excited to spend summers in the backyard, grilling.
Our closest park is one block away. It has two playgrounds and a softball field.
Who We Are
Amy and Tom met in 2008 while both working at the same magazine in New York. Tom is an editor and Amy is an art director - truly the perfect match!
He was drawn to her style and confidence; she was drawn to his friendliness and intelligence.
Together we love to travel (we took our first trip together to Europe in 2009), cook exotic foods and try every new restaurant in the area, listen to jazz and indie music, visit art museums, and work on DIY projects.
It was on one of our trips – this one to Savannah, Georgia – that Tom proposed (spoiler: Amy said yes). We got married in 2012 and honeymooned in New Zealand, where Amy had lived for three years after college.
We’ve never stopped traveling, even if it’s as simple as a long weekend down the shore.
Always creative, always curious, we look forward to sharing these special moments with our first child.
In less than a week we’re heading down to Long Beach Island for five days, where we’ll be hanging out with Amy’s family at a beach house her parents rented. It’s a very family-friendly destination, and one of our favorite places to go down the shore. We’re excited to bring our nieces and nephew to the singing ice cream shop (we went ourselves a few years ago and Tom had to stand up and sing in front of everyone there!). Hopefully we get good weather too – we’re looking forward to some time away to just relax and lay on a beach.
There are two types of people, those who plan ahead and those who do things last minute. Amy is a planner (Tom is more last-minute) so she has already bought and sourced from family and friends tons of baby items. Crib, pack and play, dresser, co-sleeper, clothes, medicine… done! This weekend we painted the room we decided would be the nursery a pale peach. It’s gender-neutral, but so pretty and soft. That room gets a lot of natural light, and it makes the room glow. Perfect and inviting for a baby. We even unpacked all the clothes we’ve bought or had given to us, and it made us really excited to welcome a little one into our lives.
