Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We hope to have the opportunity to learn about you too. We have both always felt called to be adoptive parents-- even prior to meeting each other. It is something that has always made sense to us. Our plan was to have one or two biological kids and then adopt but things aren't always up to us! God has had different plans and we are looking to adopt our first child. We can only imagine how you are feeling but know that if this is meant to be it is meant to be. You'll know if we're the one just like when we met each other we knew we were the one for each other forever. If there's a little feeling nudging you to learn more about us-- that's usually the way meant to be starts!
First, thank you for taking the time to want to learn more about us.
We are going to do our best to give you an idea of who we are, where we came from and where we think we are going.
You'll see in our pictures that we smile a lot. We really do! Mostly because we appreciate the good we have with each other.
We met about 10 years ago at a special event that was going on at church. Before leaving Joe asked me out to dinner. We went to Ruby Tuesdays and haven't looked back! We learned at dinner that we grew up 6 blocks away from each other but never met because Joe is a few years older. Joe used to ride his bike past my house all the time as a kid. We both moved back to our hometowns within a few months of each other so it really felt like it was meant to be and we got married 3 years to the day that we met. We love that our anniversary is also the anniversary of the day we met. This year we will have been married for 7 years,
We also wrote a little about each of us under our parent bios.
So where to go from here? Why don't we share a little bit about what a typical day looks like in our world...
For me Amy, I work from home for a dot com and am a marketing manager. My team designs materials and emails used by our sales team.
When our family grows, I plan to take an extended leave to be a full-time mom. Since I work from home I plan to try working from home after the leave. If I believe I can be the mom I want to be and be the employee I want to me I will consider doing both. If I am not doing both well then, I plan to quit my job.
I had a stay at home mom and it's important to me to give that to my family.
Hi it's Joe. I work from home too! I work in IT and can choose the 8-hour block of time I want to work. I'm a morning person so I tend to work earlier in the morning.
After working for a bit around 7a.m. I usually head out and meet some of my friends for breakfast and work from there for a while. When I am done with work in the afternoon I tend to do projects around the house or go swimming in the pool.
When our family grows I plan on spending the afternoons enjoying it together as a family I also hope my morning breakfasts include a kid's menu!
We like to travel. Something we share that is similar is that we traveled with our families as kids in a similar way. We would both go on weekend trips, travel with scouting. I was a boy scout and Amy was a girl scout. We are always up for a good road trip!
With Amy coming from such a big family we have a special place in our hearts for siblings. We know there can be situations where an older sibling may be involved and we are open to talking about that too. Siblings are special and we believe keeping them together is important.
We have some photos below of our extended family— Amy’s sisters and brother and all the nephews and niece. We also added a photo of Amy with two of her sisters when they were little. Her other two siblings were still a sparkle in their parents eyes at the time!
This is just a little bit about us. We hope this gives you an idea about who we are. We're always open to sharing more.
