We met through Erin's brother in the summer of 1999 and have been together ever since. We tied the knot in 2008. Brian is more reserved and observant and Erin is more of a social butterfly, but we have similar underlying values and a shared work ethic. Brian got his first job at Superfresh at fourteen, and bought his first house when he was twenty four. Erin loves learning and dedicated her twenties and early thirties to earning a PhD and a law degree. Our nicknames for each other are Bee (short for Brian) and Worm (short for bookworm). After building a life together and having lots of fun along the way, we were blessed to welcome our son in 2013.
Before becoming parents, we spent much of our free time doing home renovation projects together. On weekends, you could find us at Home Depot or Lowes, planning projects and picking up supplies. Brian is extremely handy and completely renovated our previous home, including a full bathroom renovation! We would love to buy a little shore house someday and fix it up.
Our son rocked our world by arriving almost seven weeks early in 2013. Although those early days were tough, we learned that babies can overcome a tough start with love, patient, and time. He is so excited to finally become a big brother! Right now he is the "little brother" to our three cool cats -- Charlie, Slash, and Justice.
These days, we are all about family time, and are lucky to have Brian’s parents nearby. Brian’s mom, a retired teacher, watches our son every Friday. We also take frequent family vacations to visit Erin’s parents in Florida and at the Jersey Shore. Brian's job also allows him to travel to great vacation spots, and the rest of the family loves to tag along.
We love to relax by the fire in the winter and play outside when the weather is good. Our little guy loves to play on his play set or at the local park, and especially loves "tractor" rides with Daddy! Our neighborhood is filled with young families and there is plenty of space for the kids to run and play. Our neighbors have become some of our best friends, and we love to get together for cookouts, pool parties, and movie nights. Our town has so many awesome events for families, and we especially enjoy the Halloween parade and the Dickens festival at Christmas.
Our jobs -- Brian is a sales executive for a yacht manufacturer and Erin is a public interest attorney -- are stable and flexible with generous vacation and sick time. We are proud of our careers, but we are parents first and foremost.
We love being parents, and cherish our son for the amazing little person he is, and not because he shares our genes. If you would love for your child to have devoted parents and a big brother to guide and protect him or her, we may be just the family for you!
Our home is a four-bedroom colonial in a great neighborhood, and we have completed many renovations, including a sunroom addition. We recently converted our formal living room into a playroom. We have a spacious back yard with a play set. Our next big project is a back patio!
Brian is a caretaker at heart and puts his family's needs above his own. Being a dad is his most important job. He is extremely handy and can build and fix just about anything. He is generous with his time and talents and recently helped our local boy scout troop construct a float that won first place in our town's Halloween parade! He also makes great mickey mouse pancakes and gives the best tractor rides!
Of all her titles, Erin's favorite one is mom, and she is a kind and patient mother who is an advocate for the needs of her children. When our son was born prematurely, she was determined that he would thrive despite his tough start. From the NICU to early intervention, she made sure he got the medical care and services he needed. We are blessed that he is now a happy and healthy four year old. She is also a fun-loving mom who loves to read bedtime stories, make banana muffins, or create a "volcano" experiment (not at the same time of course)!
