Our Adoption Story started back in 2015, when the desire to adopt began to weigh heavily on Lauren’s heart as we considered growing our family. It took many hard months of prayer to be confirmed and united about the whys, hows, and when of adoption. We clung to Psalm 119: 105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” And in September 2016, we were finally able to start the pre-certification process!
After a Fundraiser Adoption- Garage Sale, meetings with agencies & attorneys, a Homestudy, background checks, and reference letters - and lots of baby-steps in between, we were officially Pre-Certified in February 2017!
Now we are in the equally hard “Waiting” season. While our hearts long for our future baby(s), we can not loose sight of the two precious ones we have been entrusted with. We cherish every moment with Charlotte and Boaz. And, continue to pray & prepare for our ‘on-the-way’ children. Jeremiah 29:11 has been a huge comfort: “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” While it offers hope for the plans God is work on our behalf, we also claim it for our future baby(s), that He is work out good plans for them right now. Last, but not least, we claim it for the beautiful Mommy out there somewhere maybe needing hope for her future, and not knowing what plans lay ahead. We pray we can offer her comfort when we meet her.
We had the chance to visit Lauren’s family in VA recently. Going home to her Grandparent’s is extra special they have lived there as long as she can remember. This visit also included extended family who also came from out of town. Lauren’s adopted cousins (on right), now young adults, with her Grandmother between them; (on left) her Aunt Lori with Charlotte in front; Lauren’s Mom, hugging Boaz (back middle). Her Grandparent’s 30+yr old veggie garden is in back.
