About Us

Our Story

We reside in a beautiful bungalow home in the Los Angeles suburbs nestled nicely between great hiking, outdoor biking, parks, playgrounds, and a short 20 minute drive to the beach. We enjoy traveling to new and interesting places, visiting amusement parks (we love rollercoasters), and seeing museums.

We love to try different foods and are always hunting down a new recipe to make at home. Keisha can reverse engineer most meals she finds in a restaurant to cook at home and Andrew makes a stellar parmesan crusted catfish.

We’re also writers and teachers who share a strong passion for education, fitness, and the arts. Keisha loves interior design and Andrew’s an Eagle Scout with an affinity for the outdoors. As an interracial couple, we understand the importance of diversity and inclusion. We have an authentically diverse family and friend group.

We’re both 5’8”. Keisha has brown hair and eyes, while Andrew has chestnut hair and hazel eyes. Our child will be exposed to a healthy, active lifestyle and an education to ensure they have the tools they need to pursue the things they love.

We have several adopted family members and we know that any child brought into our lives will be flooded with love from our extended family. Our relatives are eager to offer their physical and emotional support as we engage in this new journey.

Our Home

photo of adoptive family's home We are proud homeowners who live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house in Southern California. We remodeled our home to make it our own. When you first enter, you'll be greet by our pups. You'll see our favorite books and art on display. Then you'll find our kitchen that we decorated to feel warm and inviting. Our three cozy bedrooms fill out the rest of the interior of the house. Our backyard is where we spend a lot of time socializing in the sun, cooking on the grill, and playing with our dogs. We've created a home that's welcoming to friends and family alike; so it feels like people can drop in and spend some quality time with us at the drop of a hat.

adoptive family photo - Keisha I love people for who they are, so they can be the best versions of themselves. In order to do that I practice patience, active listening, directness, and empathy. It's why I'm still a teacher even though my main career is writing. I'm passionate about education, supporting my community and spending time with my loved ones. I value structure so I can go with the flow of life and improvise when the moment calls for it. I like to be prepared for the chaos life brings. I love being spontaneous and am willing to go on most adventures but I will always have a backup plan for my backup plan just in case things get off track. At the end of the day, I value balance, radical empathy and love.

adoptive family photo - Andrew Coming from a family of 5, I'm used to being part of a team. I believe in open communication and try to lead with positive reinforcement. As a teacher I learned the value of giving children the space to learn from their own mistakes and I'm 100% committed to making sure our children pursue their dreams.

Above all, I know whoever joins our family will be inundated with unending love, joy, and cartoons. I absolutely love cartoons.
