Hello! We are Joe and Danielle from Long Island New York. Joe is a handyman and Danielle is a real estate agent, and we have built a lovely home where we hope to raise our children.
We’ve been happily married for six years, but have known each other for much longer than that. We were actually friends in high school. Our friendship has lasted over 25 years!
Adoption, to us, is not “Plan B.” It has always been part of the original plan when Joe asked (on our second date), “Do you want to have kids?” I told him that I had always dreamed of adopting a child. He was totally on board!
We are a fun-loving couple who enjoys travelling, outdoor activities, spending time with friends and family, and just enjoying each other’s company at home.
Please read on to learn more about our interests and what you can expect of us as parents.
We've been told that our backyard is a child's dream! We have a playset for swinging, a pond for swimming, and lots of room to run around.
There are trails from our backyard for the child to go bike riding on and woods to explore.
We live 10 minutes from a beach where we love to spend lazy days playing in the ocean.
Our house is a lovely home in a save and family-oriented neighborhood. We have some of the best rated schools in the country and the child will have access to all the tools for success that a parent could dream of for their baby.
Hi! I am Danielle. I love gardening, playing with my dogs, and spending time by our backyard pond feeding the fish. I also love getting together with friends and family for grill-outs, bonfires, and lawn games. My friends and family describe me as fun-loving, determined, and caring.
I’m a real estate agent by trade. I love my job for many reasons, one reason being that it allows me to make my own schedule. This type of flexibility will be great when raising a baby. I will have more time to care for the child, drive them to appointments, and eventually to school and extra-curricular activities.
I plan on being the kind of mom my mom was. Kind, patient, accepting, encouraging, and attentive. Like my mom, I will be at all the school plays, sporting events, or anywhere the child needs me to feel loved and supported.
There are so many things I look forward to doing with our child.
I look forward to reading to the baby every night and helping them with their homework as they grow older. In fact, I have a long list of “must-reads” that will be in the baby’s library.
I plan for our house to always be filled with music, art, and creativity. Like my father encouraged me to play the piano, sing, and perform, I will also encourage my child’s creativity. There is already a piano in the living room where I envision our children learning how to play.
Nightly dinner around the table, baking cookies on a rainy Sunday, and family fun playing board games sound like the perfect way to spend the next couple decades. That’s why I know that if you choose us, your child will have a warm, loving and fun home to grow up in.
Hello, I’m Joe. I enjoy spending time outdoors. I like hiking with my dogs, which I do on the trails outside our backyard. We live in the perfect spot to go hiking, bike riding, or anything outdoorsy that you can imagine. I’ve been doing a lot of kayaking lately too. I’m known for having a good sense of humor, being helpful, and grilling too much meat.
I am a handyman by trade. I work hard to provide a safe and beautiful home for Danielle and our future family. Like Danielle, my work is also flexible which is great for child care. Between Danielle and I, that baby will be well cared for at all times.
I’ve wanted to become a father for as long as I can remember. I’ve wanted to pass on to my son or daughter some of the amazing experiences I had as a child.
Scouting was a big part of my youth. My dad took me on lots of camping adventures with the Boy Scouts. The things I learned in scouting including hard work, volunteering, and teamwork helped shape the man I am today. I continue to volunteer with the organization, and I hope to participate in scouting with my children.
Sports were also a big part of growing up for me. My mom was always a part of the parent’s athletic club and was there for every game. I played sports from elementary school through college and continued well into my adult life. Lessons that you learn in sports such as teamwork and cooperation are valuable life lessons to enrich a child’s character.
I’m excited to teach my child how to both win and lose a game with dignity. I am looking forward to discovering what sport they are interested in. I’ll be there for every game, and I’d even like to try my hand at coaching.
Even though I have my own great experiences of childhood, I know that some kids might not be into scouting or sports. Whatever my child is interested in, I will be interested in it. I will support them and encourage them to follow their passions and dreams.
