We appreciate your decision to make an adoption plan.

Hello! We can only imagine the mixture of emotions going through your heart and head. Hopefully, as you continue reading, you will feel a sense of ease and a smile will come across your face. Although we too are feeling some nervousness, we want you to know that we are beyond excited to take this next step with you. If we were in your shoes, we would want to know the character of potential adoptive parents, and the type of home they would provide.

Jason has been working for 15 years as a high school teacher and Greg is a director of a college teachers' union. Our experience in education is something we are dedicated to and passionate about. We feel confident that your child will have all the necessary support to be successful not only academically, but also emotionally, socially, and psychologically.

Supporting the community is important to us. We participate in charitable events and activism for cancer, the environment, and social justice, to name a few, and would like to instill those values in a child as well. You might be thinking about health and safety (we were too). Our home is spacious, safe, and inviting. Baby-dedicated rooms are ready: carpeted playroom, bedroom, family room. On a walk around our neighborhood on any given day, you would see houses on nature-filled lots, wildlife, and a friendly hello from a neighbor. The nearby parks and trails are plentiful, whether for a hike or some fun time on the playground. Moreover, our family and friends gather often, whether for a celebration or a quick visit. Our neighbors are awesome. We love exchanging foods with them - veggies and herbs from our garden, baked bread, and more. Feel comfortable knowing that your child will have a strong community of love and support. We know it takes a village to raise a child, and we have an amazing village of family and friends that we can rely on as parents.

Drop-in on a casual day and you would probably witness some silliness, laughter, and singing along to music while we prepare healthy meal options (and sort-of healthy desserts). An active lifestyle helps us burn off those calories! Bicycling, hiking, and swimming are just a few of the hobbies that we can't wait to share with a new addition to our family.

Lastly, every parent wants their child to have the opportunity to do whatever his/her heart desires. We hope this thought stays with you after viewing our profile. Our home is bursting at the seams with love to share. Any child placed with us will have an abundance of love and laughter, and every opportunity to pursue his/her dreams.

Who We Are

We met online - before smartphones! - and have been attached at the hip ever since. Always willing to try new things, our first date was at an amusement park. Fun and spontaneity help to keep our relationship exciting. For example, Jason proposed to Greg on a sunset cruise and Greg surprised Jason with a Vegas wedding. Many of our individual characteristics build upon each other, such as Greg's attention to detail and organization meshing with Jason's problem-solving and determined drive. Our relationship is built on a foundation that focuses on support and communication. Achieving goals as a family unit is what is most rewarding. Whether it is cooking, home projects, or simple advice, the aim is to grow together. We are excited to establish an open adoption relationship with a birth mother and support any child in achieving whatever goals he or she may want to pursue. The best emotions to describe life for us are love and laughter. We hope to be able to shower a baby with so much of both.

Adoption Diary

Visiting Grandma

It has been a good long while since we were able to visit grandma. The pandemic made it extremely difficult. Finally able to setup an appointment. Spent some quality time laughing and reminiscing. What a wonderful woman; so glad we could make her smile. Grateful for family and the amazing people in our life.

Stuck staying home (but our neighbors are great)

We have been exchanging things across our fence more frequently now that we are home.  It’s a great way to get through quarantine.  We bake focaccia with tomatoes from our garden.  In return we got some great sausages and brisket from their backyard smoker.  I guess we are all adapting to being home more (and becoming even better cooks in the process).  Cookies are next…lol.

Thank You for Visiting Our Adoption Profile

We want to thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child.

We truly appreciate your kindness and strength and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Greg + Jason
