About Me

photo of adoptive family's story

My Story

Creating memories with my family and friends is the most important thing to me and my favorite way to do that is by trying all sorts of different experiences together. My dining room table is always full of loved ones and the laughter can be heard from across the street. From game nights to Tai Chi to watching movies on my outdoor projector, we do it all. It is important to me to have a home where everyone always feels welcomed, valued, and loved. I claimed hosting duty many years ago and my door is always open. I never want anyone to ever feel alone.

My Home

photo of adoptive family's home I now live in the same house I grew up in. This home has always been my safe haven and safe place to land. The backyard is the highlight of my house with a spacious deck and pool. There are plenty of bedrooms for a growing family that I can’t wait to fill with tiny feet!

I live in a quaint neighborhood only a train ride away from all the excitement of New York City. It is literally the best of both worlds and there is always something to do. I am less than 15 minutes from the beach. I’m surrounded by museums, nature preserves, gardens, movie theaters, shopping, hiking trails, zoos, entertainment venues, and parks.

I live on a quiet block with neighbors that have been here for generations. There is a mix of retirees, couples, individuals, and young families. Everyone looks out for each other and is always quick to greet each other with a wave and a warm smile. Plus, we have all four seasons!

Bernadette

adoptive family photo - Bernadette I am an easy going, dinosaur loving, elephant collecting, amigurumi crocheting, redhead. I read approximately 100 books per year, mainly fiction, but I am open to any and all genres. I believe reading opens the door to everything. My dream job would be to own a bookstore with the most fantastical children's section. Can you imagine the library from Beast's castle in Beauty and the Beast? That would be one of my happy places. Well, maybe not the trapped in a castle part… but you know what I mean. However, I am more than just a bookworm. I love to try new things from a tame paint nite to an exciting skydiving adventure.
