Camp week!

I know, it’s still winter, but camp sign-up season is in full swing.  This year will be the second year that we have all the kids signed up for overnight camp during the same week!

Each kid sat down with Dad and looked at camp options.  We have 1 going to tech camp, 2 going to horseback riding camp, and 2 going to a traditional camp for children with special needs.  They all really loved camp last year.  They got to hike, swim, do computer programming, and meet new friends.

My husband and I look forward to this week in the middle of summer to finally take a break.  Last year we watched a ton of movies, stayed up late, and ate cereal in bed.  We also did a lot of laundry and deep cleaning.

I love that the kids are old enough to go out and explore the world.  It is also a reminder that they are growing older.  I know we are not done with the younger ages just yet.  We still take on lots of foster babies and toddlers when we’re able.  Last year during camp week, we even did respite care for a newborn 2 of the days our kids were gone.

I look forward to the coming camp week.  Knowing the kids are safe and having a blast, and that I don’t have to pick up after them will be a blast.  I hope that week is also filled with new blessing for us.  We are ready and open to starting a new parenting journey again.
