Hello Expectant Parents!

Thank you for taking time to read about us. We know that choosing the people to raise your baby is a hard decision for you. We will raise your child with love and acceptance for who they are in a safe home. We look forward to parenting and the opportunities to help a child learn and explore. We promise to do all that we can to care for your child so that they can grow up with a happy life ahead of them.

Here's a bit about us! We are Andrew and Glenna, and have been married for ten happy years and have a cottage together with a large garden full of vegetables, berry bushes, fruit trees, and flowers. We are seeking to adopt due to infertility and because we wish to expand our family and share the love. Many of our family and friends are neurodivergent or have physical or mental disabilities, so we are very used to helping them and being accommodating to their various needs.

Andrew has a Bachelors in Computer Science, and works from home as a Senior Software Developer. He is the youngest of eight children and has many nieces and nephews, including one that is adopted. Glenna has a Bachelors of Business Administration, and she runs a small online business with a friend making doll clothing and accessories. She is the oldest of three children and has several fur nieces.

We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and do a lot of volunteering at our church. We have a pet western hognose snake named Chocolate Chip, and he loves chin rubs and digging around in his enclosure. He’s a very sweet boy who likes watching Youtube and video games we are playing.

Hobbies and Fun Things We Enjoy:

We play Dungeons and Dragons with our friends once or twice per week and have a lot of fun telling stories together.
We are part of the SCA (a non-profit educational medieval reenactment group) and enjoy learning about history, especially when there is new information on the subjects. We attend events in period garb, participate in crafts, and do service with the goal of educating people about our shared past.
Andrew loves to garden and grow fruits, vegetables, and flowers in our yard.
Glenna likes to do fiber arts, such as knitting, spinning yarn, sewing, and weaving.
We both like to play video and board games with friends and family.
We like to travel and see historic and natural wonders when we visit family or friends.
We love museums, zoos, aquariums, festivals, etc. of all kinds.
Glenna loves music and is a classically trained singer who sings in our church choir.
We both love to cook, bake, and grill on our back patio.

Who We Are

Andrew and I (Glenna) met at church the day after I moved to Utah to start fresh and started dating a month later. We love being able to talk about anything: history, our thoughts and feelings, hobbies, and hopes together. We value each other's intellect and good heart and strive to keep that going in each other and those around us.

Adoption Diary

Banana Bread Legacy

Hello expectant mama!

This past week, my (Glenna) Mom and Grandma Sugars visited us for a week from California. Growing up, my sister and I always made banana bread with Grandma’s recipe around the holidays at her house, so every family could bring a big loaf home.

So, I asked her to bake with me again, and it was so much fun! Even when I dropped the beater in the dough, it was still funny and a good time. My husband and Grandma prefer walnuts in their loaves, but Mom and I don’t, so I didn’t think I had any on hand. But, I found a bag of whole nuts Andrew had picked up and mom sat and cracked open the walnuts in there just for them. We also discovered Grandma Sugars still has a really strong grip even in her late 80s, because the last walnut would not split open but she got it when Mom hadn’t been able to.

We made dozens of muffins and mini-loaves with the tripled recipe we made, enough for Mom to take some home to my brother and for my sister to fill a big gallon bag of them, since she loves them for breakfast.

Someday, I hope to teach this recipe and how to bake for love to our child, so it can be continued on forever. :) The memories are priceless and the smell and companionship are wonderful treasures I want to share.

Nursery Preparation, pt. 3

Hello expectant mama!

We are still working on our nursery bit by bit. My main project at the moment is knitting a super soft blanket for our future child. The yarn is really thick and squishy, so I just know the child will be so happy and warm in it! And it will be big (but not too big), so the child can grow with it and enjoy it for a very long time.

This week my (Glenna) mom and grandma are visiting from California and they are super hopeful and excited for us and our adoption journey that we hope to make with you! We’ve been sitting in the living room while I knit on the blanket and just talking about all our dreams and plans to be the best family we can be. We’re also baking banana bread and making our family spaghetti sauce and all the fun cooking things together. we really cannot wait to share the love and the food!
