Our Story
We are Michael and Mary, and we appreciate you taking the time to get to know us!
Our adventure began on the night of Mary's junior prom in 2001, where sparks flew instantly. Despite attending different colleges on the East Coast, our friendship endured. After graduation, we decided to date long distance. While Michael worked on Capitol Hill, Mary dove into a new business venture in Louisiana. In 2009, Michael relocated to Louisiana, and we married in November 2010.
Our wedding day was a joyful celebration, filled with laughter and love from family and friends. In the 13 years since, we have experienced a variety of adventures together - from renovating homes to closing real estate deals, navigating career changes, traveling, and overcoming health challenges along the way. Mary, being resilient, even underwent a double mastectomy due to the BRCA 2 gene, which led us to rule out further IVF treatment. Despite these challenges, we have emerged stronger and more united than ever. Our friends and family, along with our faith in God, have been our steadfast companions through it all.
Since 2020, we have been working from home, giving us plenty of time to spend with our furry friend, Mint, and explore the world together. Whether we are hiking trails or trying out new recipes in the kitchen, we ensure that every moment is filled with fun. Throughout our years of marriage, we have learned to face life's ups and downs with a healthy dose of laughter and resilience
