What Led Us to Adoption
It’s so interesting the path that people in life take and what leads them to adoption. When we first started on our own adoption path, we never realized the amount of love and gratitude we would develop for so many of the expectant moms out there. To see the amount of strength and love it takes for a parent to give their child the best possible life when it ultimately means that child may not be in their life on a daily basis, is one of the most selfless acts a parent can do. We say it a lot but that recognition is one that we hope to convey to any child we are lucky enough to raise.
Learning that neither of us could biologically have children was a let down, but it never deterred us from still wanting to start a family together. Many people often wonder what their purpose in life is, and we both fully believe that our purpose is to raise a child with kindness, love and respect. To give them a life with endless opportunity and support. We tell Wyatt all of the time where he comes from and that he is so lucky to have so many people in his life who love him. Wyatt has an older brother (who is being raised by his birth parents), and we constantly share pictures of him with Wyatt. To see the resemblance these two share is so much fun to witness. Speaking of Wyatt, he will make an amazing big brother. He is very loving and would have an endless amount of love to give to a little brother or sister. He will love to show them the ropes, so to speak! The both of us have discussed many times the ways in which we feel it would be beneficial for Wyatt and this potential new baby to grow up having a sibling they can rely on. Not to mention, these two could potentially grow up and be able to share in their adoption experiences together. We understand that children who are adopted will eventually question where they come from and why they were given up for adoption and it would be wonderful to have a sibling to go through life with being able to fully support one another in that capacity.
