About Us
Our Story
Our story began 3 years ago although it feels like we have known each other forever. We met on Match.com and had our first date 2 weeks prior to the COVID pandemic. We were only able to go on a few dates before Heather became sick with COVID and had to spend 2 weeks in isolation. Throughout the 2 weeks Cody called every day to check in and made cute gestures to let her know he cared. She knew then that he was someone special and had such a kind heart. Fast forward through 9 months of dating and he proposed! Although we had a longer engagement than we would have liked due to the pandemic, it was all worth it in the end as we had the wedding of our dreams. We have now been married for over a year and looking forward to building our family. Some of our favorite things to do together as a couple include hiking, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. Our moto was always “Let the adventures begin,” and we are ready for our next BIG adventure: adoption and becoming parents.
We have endured ups and downs throughout our first year of marriage, however we truly believe it is a testament to our love and commitment to each other. We were able to conceive, but then sadly lost our first pregnancy at 14 weeks. Since then, we have gone through fertility treatment and had a failed embryo transfer. Although this has been tough, we strongly believe there is a plan for us. We have always discussed adoption regardless of being able to have biological children. We are very excited to begin our journey of adoption, as we know the love, stability, and support we have to offer. Our families have been extremely supportive of the adoption process and can’t wait to love on our baby-to-be. Becoming parents was a goal we have discussed from the very beginning of our relationship, and something we will put all our heart into to make a reality.
We are both lucky to come from very loving families that mostly live close by. Some of Cody’s siblings reside in the state of Florida, which always gives us a reason to go away on mini vacations to visit! We are both incredibly close with our families and enjoy getting together for dinners, holidays, and vacations. We have 2 nephews and 4 nieces that all age from newborn-4years old (just waiting for a new little cousin to play with).

Our Home
There’s No Place Like Home:
We live in a colonial style house at the end of a cul-de-sac in a beautiful neighborhood. Although we live close enough to all the necessities, we also love that our home is in the country neighboring farm fields. Cody and I love to go on walks and enjoy the beautiful views. We have enough property for a child to run and play and neighbors with young children. We live in a town with a great school district. Our 4 fur babies (2 cats and 2 small dogs) are our world. They are all very friendly with children and looking forward to meeting their new little brother or sister. We purchased our home in hopes of raising our children here and the only thing that is missing is the pitter patter of tiny little feet!
Cody
Cody is smart, sweet, energetic, and funny. If I am having a bad day, I can always count on him to make me laugh. He comes from a loving family with 2 siblings. He often shares stories from his childhood and how much he cherishes the memories he’s made with his family. His parents instilled qualities in him to be hardworking, passionate, and motivated as well as caring and nurturing toward others. Cody works with his mother as part business owner in financial advising. He is very passionate about his career and loves helping others fulfill their dreams. Some of Cody’s interests include traveling, cooking, and acting. I will definitely admit that he is an AMAZING cook and gives me a run for my money in the kitchen (although I will never admit that to him). We love to cook together and try new dishes. Above all things the one dream Cody talks the most about is becoming a father. He is the best uncle to our nephews and nieces, and they adore him. I know without a doubt he is going to be an amazing father one day.
Heather
My wife Heather, she is the most incredible person I have ever met. Ever since I met her, we talked about family. She comes from a loving family with 3 siblings whom she is very close to. Her dream is to build a family that reflects her own as she always felt loved and supported growing up. Heather is a Speech Language Pathologist at a local nursing home where she helps stroke victims and adults with other neurological impairments. Heather is determined, happy, loving, funny, energetic and graceful. She impresses me all the time with her strength. She is an amazing aunt to her nieces and nephews. Watching her play with them makes me certain she will make the best mother. The patience and tenderness she shows them only solidifies that. She enjoys hiking, music, cooking, and gardening. I have the highest respect, love, and gratitude towards the woman I call my wife.
