Michele & Mitch

While we prepare for the day that we get to become parents, we’ve started to put together our nursery. I (Michele) have always had this vision of a woodland/forest themed nursery with adorable baby forest animals, greenery and warm tones. We recently purchased our crib, dresser and were gifted a beautiful chair and ottoman. This week we plan to start prepping to paint - a soft sage green color. I love interior design so seeing the vision begin to come to life has been so much fun. We’ll share pictures soon!

Our amazing friends are up from Florida this week! We’ve been trying to pack in as much time with them as possible before they have to head home on Monday. We were just in Florida a month ago to visit them and surprise Robbie for his birthday and thankfully we didn’t have to go too long without seeing them because this trip to NY was planned months ago. We usually only get to see them twice a year, so you better believe we make the most of the moments when we’re together! We still had to work this week so unfortunately, we missed a birthday party for their son on Wednesday but we made up for it by throwing him a mini birthday party at our house on Thursday. The kids love Mitch’s popcorn machine, and we’ve made it a little tradition to have a pizza and popcorn night whenever they’re here (*fun fact: one of Mitchs’ favorite foods is popcorn!). Friday during the day we had a little pool party at my (Micheles’) parents’ house and later that night we got to try out a new restaurant on the water which proved to be INSANELY good - they practically had to roll us out of there; the food coma was real but of course the laughs were even better. We’re hoping the weather holds out today so we can have a night around the fire pit; what’s better in the summer? Jess and Robbie have been two of our biggest supporters from the very beginning (of our relationship, our marriage, our infertility journey and now our adoption journey) and truly everything in-between. They are friends who have turned to family, and we feel so lucky to have them in our lives (if you’re reading this… we love you guys SO much!).

We can’t wait to fill the extra seats around the firepit with children of our own who will get to join in on all of these special moments!
