kind. strong. creative. joyful. hopeful adoptive mother.

I would like to start by expressing how much respect I have for you. Considering placing your baby for adoption is an overwhelming act of love and courage. I will not pretend to understand how difficult this is for you and I want you to feel confident about your choice.

If you decide to take the adoption path and feel like I am the right fit to parent your baby, I will do everything in my power to give that child a wonderful life. I cannot wait to be a mother! I have the resources, experience and support to create a stable, encouraging and loving home. There is a community of family and friends eager to be involved in the child's life - long bike rides with grandpa, dance parties with cousins, advice from an aunt and bear hugs from a family friend. All that's missing is the baby. I don't know how to say thank you for taking the time to consider me as the adoptive parent for your future baby. You would be making a significant and lasting impact on my life.

Who I Am

I have wanted to be a mother my whole life and, for some reason, I always knew I wanted to adopt. As I get older, I care less about what other people think and the traditional order of life. I'm ready to take on the role as a single woman. I have a strong support system to help me as I raise a happy child in a loving and accepting environment. Family is so much more than genetics; adoption is a wonderful way to create a family built on love. I don't know what the future holds, but I will always honor you in our home and cherish the gift you've given me.

Future Relationship

I wish I had a crystal ball to tell you exactly what my relationship with the child’s birth mother will be like.  Unfortunately, I can’t see the future.

However, I would love for the birth mother to be involved in my child’s life somehow.  Generally, it’s better for the child to know where they came from and have that connection and I would want that for them.

What that involvement looks like will depend on so many different things, but most importantly to me is to honor the feelings and wishes of the birth mother.  And it’s okay for those feelings to change over time.  I can understand that you might want more or less contact for many reasons.

What I can promise is to be open and honest about our future relationship and willing to work together to figure out what works best for everyone involved.

Travel

I love to travel!

I didn’t do much of it as a kid - just trips to see family.  After college, I planned a one month journey to Europe.  It started with a desire to go to Norway to see where my grandpa was born and then I added on Iceland, Denmark and Germany.  That was when I fell in love with traveling.

Since then I’ve snorkeled in Belize, hiked in Croatia and pet cheetahs in Zambia.  I love seeing the architecture and nature in different parts of the world, eating delicious food and especially, meeting all different people and experiencing their culture.

Traveling has broadened my view and exposed me to all sorts of ways of living.  The experiences have also taught me how to adapt, take chances and the power that comes from stepping out of my comfort zone.

I can’t wait to show my child the world!  I want them to experience the simple trips I took as a kid - seeing cousins in Waco or a day at the local beach.  I also want them to see the wonder of other cultures and how they fit into the big world.  It will be amazing to bring them to some of my favorite destinations and for us to explore new ones together.
