Our Story

We met through a mutual friend during Kristin's freshman year and Ian's sophomore year of college in Manchester, New Hampshire. Kristin majored in psychology and Ian majored in history. Despite being best friends throughout college we did not start dating until many years later! Finally, in 2017, almost 10 years after meeting, Ian finally asked Kristin to marry him while on vacation in Europe with his parents.

In June of 2018, on a beautiful spring day, we were married in front of our family and friends. Our ceremony took place at a beautiful cathedral in Albany, New York. It was followed by a reception filled with love, dancing, and laughter. Having our family and friends around us to celebrate our commitment to each other is something that we will always cherish and will remember forever.

On our wedding day we were told that even though we felt like we couldn't love the other person more than we already did, our love would grow even stronger with each passing day and year. We reflect on this advice often and have realized how true it is. With every success, every challenge, and every passing day our love grows even stronger and deeper over the past 4 and a half years.

Our Home

photo of adoptive family's home Welcome to our home! We live in a 4 bedroom 1.5 bath Colonial a little outside of Boston. We were so excited to purchase our first home together and make it our own. We have a large backyard with plenty of room to play, BBQ with friends, and have bonfires. We have lived in our house for three years and have enjoyed doing projects together (painting, decorating, and making improvements). We are close to local schools and playgrounds, as well as a pond for kayaking!

adoptive family photo - Kristin About Kristin (Written by Ian):

Kristin is a loving person, who always puts others before herself. I will always remember when we first became best friends. Her integrity, humor, and beauty were something that always caught my attention. Kristin loves helping others. She always wanted to be a teacher, but as she got older she realized that her teaching was not in a classroom, but rather helping children in the hospital. Kristin's commitment and dedication is something that shows in her everyday life. From overcoming personal health struggles as a child to supporting and guiding her godson, her love always shows through.

Kristin enjoys skiing, going to the beach, baking, and traveling. She loves being surrounded by her family and friends. She is an amazing woman and I am proud to be married to her and know that she is going to be an amazing mom.

adoptive family photo - Ian About Ian (written by Kristin):

Ian loves the outdoors and is always ready for a new adventure. Whether it be hiking in the mountains, camping in the woods, or turning down a ski trail, he loves to share his passion for the outdoors with his family and friends. Ian's creativity is something that has always stood out, especially through his Lego creations. He is always eager to connect with others, especially kids, and share their interest in Legos.

Ian's strength, compassion, and dedication to family help him to handle anything that comes his way. He keeps me laughing, challenges me to be the best version of myself, and is my rock through difficult situations.
