We had a great weekend at Shelli’s family lake home. We got daily pontoon rides for Parker plus Monday we had 4 cousins over for playtime! We had a blast and were sad to come home. We did all snuggle on the couch for Sing 2 though when we got home, the sun wore us out. We are still searching for adoption and hoping next fourth we can have another little one to add to the cousins party

We got to spend our first day at the lake with Shelli’s sister and her two kids. We went for a pontoon ride with grandma and grandpa, played with water squirters and had a bonfire.
We aren’t sure what we will do today but pretty sure it involves a boat ride.

About once I week I am able to do something I really enjoy and go rock climbing. The weather here has been hit and miss so far this summer so I had to go climbing indoors, but when I am doing something I love it is hard to be too bummed out. I hope one day Jeff and I can share our common love of this sport with

We made it to the Minnesota Zoo yesterday, it was perfect weather and gave us a chance to spend some fun time together as a family. Jeff was a little disappointed the bears were sleeping and Parker was afraid of the whales, which were actually sea otters. It was the perfect weather day. We got to take our

I love this photo, it is a bit hard to see, but our son Parker loves holding Jeff’s hand and running to the park after dinner each night. Unfortunately temps here have been close to 100 so we haven’t made it there the last few nights. I can’t for better weather so we can play down there with the

We got to spend the summer solstice on a family walk. Parker rode most of the mile and a half in his red wagon but after stopping for the park, Parker had to walk with dad and the dog holding his dad’s hand. These days make my heart melt and ache for another child to complete our family

Jeff was lucky enough to spend the day with our son Parker and his family down by the family farm. This is his third father’s day and we are praying next year it is celebrated with two children and not just Parker. Jeff also ran in a local town celebration and won the race, he is in training mode for the

In case you read about our evening routine, I thought I would post a picture to show how mornings go here. We can’t eat our breakfast without one of our animals (occasionally he tries for more). Sometimes the animal wants a different breakfast than Parker, and the real dog in our house must not come

I never thought we would be a family with a routine, which is still true to some point. However you know when 730 hits, it is time to brush your teeth and start getting ready for bed. This is Parker and I sitting in his reading chair. It will be sad the day we can’t sit side by side and read our books.

We got to round out the weekend watching the state highschool rodeo! Parker said his favorite thing from it were the horses but the bulls (angry cows) were high up on the list. Next weekend he and Jeff will spend the weekend at grandma’s and grandpa’s farm and ride horses themselves.

It has been a bit of a rough week in our adoption journey. We had someone reach out to us and spark out hopes and hearts that we had finally been chosen by a birth mom and within a few days got ghosted.
Granted this isn’t the first time by any means that this has happened, but the longer we are on this journey

We were blessed this last weekend that we could spend three days with our cousins and aunts and uncles that were back home visiting from the east coast. Our son loved going to the zoo with everyone. I commonly get asked what the hardest part of the process is, and it is by far the wait. We have been waiting for a match for almost 4 years and it is hard to wake up optimistic someday.
With roles reversed though, I couldn’t imagine the strength and love it takes for an expecting mom to choose

We took a few days away and left our son with grandma and Jeff’s family. We went out climbing in the mountains of Colorado.
It was beautiful and some of the first time away from Parker we have had in well over a year.
I expected to love it all, which I did enjoy the trip but found myself constantly
