We met during college through mutual friends and formed an instant connection. We both loved working with kids, had an interest in graphic design, and even attended some of the same community events growing up. We dated for several years visiting different places together during our breaks from school. During a weekend trip, John proposed at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Vegas with a song he wrote while a friend played the guitar. We celebrated our engagement that night with dinner at the Eiffel Tower and the Beatles Love show. After we both graduated, we got married under a flower filled gazebo at a local park surrounded by friends and family.
Throughout our years together, we have enjoyed experiencing different places, whether it be celebrating our anniversary at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, going on a cruise to the Bahamas with family, or visiting a local botanical garden with our dog. We have also worked hard to grow both as individuals and as a couple to create a strong foundation for our family, and we’re so excited to begin this new adventure of growing our family through adoption.
We love living in sunny Southern California, where we can enjoy many amenities, such as the beach, the mountains, and amusement parks all year long. We bought our current house over a year ago to have the room we needed to expand our family through adoption, work from home, and have a yard for children to play. We love the area for its beautiful hills and trees and proximity to everything, including family and friends. We have access to many parks, walking trails, and even a lake. Our neighborhood organizes fun events such as summer potlucks, Easter egg hunts, and pumpkin carving for families to enjoy. Our city holds many community events, such as concerts in the park, movies at the lake, and holiday craft fairs. We look forward to experiencing all our neighborhood and community has to offer, as well as experiencing other cities and cultures, with our child in the future.
Richelle is one of the kindest and most intelligent people I know. She has a strong work ethic while always prioritizing what’s most important, family and friends. Richelle’s passions in life include education and self-improvement. She loves reading and believes learning is a life-long process. In the time that I’ve known her, I’ve watched as she’s put into practice everything she’s learned about self-improvement. She believes that education is invaluable when paired with learning life skills. Richelle has taught many children over the years, from infants to middle school students. She now tutors children all over the U.S. Working from home, I get to hear how excited she is every time she starts a tutoring session with a child and how excited they are to see her. One of the things that made me fall in love with her was how playful, supportive, loving, and gentle she is with children. Richelle has always wanted to adopt. From early on in our relationship, it was easy for me to see that she would be a wonderful mother.
John is a fun, loving, and hardworking person who values his family and friends. He has a deep compassion for others which shows through in his genuinely friendly demeanor. His generosity and desire to help everyone he encounters, including strangers, inspires others to pass along small acts of kindness. His love of learning, working with his hands, and ability to quickly understand complex concepts allows John to accomplish anything he puts his mind to, whether it’s taking apart and fixing the washing machine, replacing a part in the car, or taking on projects around the house. John’s mission is to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming place for everyone to gather. John loves kids. He is not afraid to be silly and loves making kids smile. Being a dad has always been very important to John, and I know he will be an amazing dad to any child that comes into our lives.
