Our Story

Hello. We're Stephanie and Kirt. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and consider our family.

We met in 2009 while I was on vacation with friends for Fourth of July. We immediately connected over our love for the beach, country music, and dancing. We knew it was meant to be and got married less than a year later.

We had our first son Ryker in 2012 while stationed in Virginia and then the next year we received orders to Okinawa, Japan. We enjoyed Japan and the culture so much. It was truly an amazing experience. Our second son Luke was born in 2014. Our next move would be in 2016 to Miami, FL. In spring of 2017 we would welcome our fluffball of a dog Charlie. He's a mini goldendoodle and literally the best dog in the world!!!! In 2019 we would move again but only for a brief year back to Virginia so Kirt could complete a required course for the Marine Corps. In the summer of 2020 we would move to our current location HAWAII!!!!! Seriously it is paradise. We love adventuring here and soaking up as much as we can while we wait to see what the military life has in store for us next.

We are no longer able to grow our family naturally and since I was adopted as a young child it would mean the world to us to grow our family through adoption.

Our Home

photo of adoptive family's home Our current community is located on a military base and in the best neighborhood we could ever ask for. Our home is 2000+ sq ft-3 bedroom 2 story home overlooking the ocean. The boys share a room and we have a nursery room already set up.
Our neighborhood is a 1/4 mile circle- one way road. There's a playground and sidewalk in the center. We have so many neighborhood cookouts, birthday parties, campouts, playground events and book club nights. It truly takes a village and we have the best one.

adoptive family photo - Stephanie Stephanie grew up in a small town in North Carolina. She graduated from her hometown community college with an Associates Degree in Medical Office Adminstration.  She worked in hospital and a couple medical offices before meeting Kirt and moving to the coast.
She is now STAY at HOME MOM, runner, triathlete, and a social butterfly.  She can strike up a conversation with absolutely anyone and the kids absolutely developed this gift as well.  She is outgoing, fun, and loves the outdoors.  She is active in the kids school (when covid rules didn't apply) and active in Military Spouse groups/gatherings.

Kirt, Ryker, and Luke

adoptive family photo - Kirt, Ryker, and Luke Kirt is an Active Duty Marine and has been for 16 years.  He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's Degree and also now has a Master's Degree in Leadership.  Kirt is totally a kid at heart and is always wrestling with the kids or playing a sport with them in the backyard.  Let's not even discuss beachdays and how many times he has to throw the kids in the water and jump waves with them.  It's absolutely comical to watch and he loves every second of it.
Kirt is very into football, surfing, fitness, and his favorite holiday is Halloween.  He is also our household financial manager and loves organizing, which he does insanely well.

Ryker is a very outgoing and independent 10 year old.  He has his mother's social skills for sure and his father's strive for perfection, organization, and attention to detail.  He is very much a routine follower.  Ryker loves soccer and running.  He is very sensitive, caring, and will randomly open doors for people without anyone having to ask him.  Having good manners and eating healthy to become like THE ROCK are his goals.

Luke is the cuddler.  Even at 7 years old he still loves cuddling and hugging his mother who he will say is his favorite.  Wrestling, sports, and cooking are things he loves to do with his father.  His favorite sport is now basketball which he will be playing in the spring.  Jumping in the waves at the beach is also a favorite activity.

These boys are the absolute best brothers and can't wait to welcome a sibling/siblings into the family.  They constantly talk about our neighbors kids/babies and how they can't wait to have a little one in the home to teach and play with.

Thank You for Visiting Our Adoption Profile
