Joe and I are proud members of the "we met online" club and laugh a little each time we say it. Before our first date, we spent a few weeks simply exchanging long emails, texting, and talking on the phone and we both recognized that we had an instant and special connection.
A couple of months after our first date, we took his oldest nephew, Luke (about 4 years old at the time) to the zoo. During this date, as I watched Joe navigate the busy crowds and get soaked in the splash pad right along with Luke, I had my first glimpse that confirmed all my suspicions; this guy is going to be a fun-loving and patient Dad!
My second suspicion was
also confirmed that day; yep, it was soon but I knew then that I wanted to marry him one day. Thankfully, he felt the same way!
It doesn't matter what we are up to; laughing and being together is where we want to be.

We love our home and hope to stay here for many more years. It is filled with pictures of our loved ones and souvenirs from our favorite trips. Our house is warm and welcoming and has 3 bedrooms. Our living room, kitchen, and dining room are an open floorplan with an extra area right off our main space that will become a play room. We also have a deck and fenced back yard, which have the perfect amount of room for playing.
Our home is in a neighborhood with a lot of mature trees, friendly families, and sidewalks for bike and wagon rides. We have access to a wonderful school system that is consistently awarded as one of the top in the state. In addition, we are fortunate to have made great
connections with other adoptive families in our neighborhood and surrounding community. We also love that our neighborhood is close to many local parks, cultural opportunities, and top-notch medical care.
In my free time I enjoy wandering our local shops and trails, scrolling through IG and Pinterest for project inspiration, and reading some cheesy chick flick books. I will take any opportunity for a family or friend gathering and love an endless game of Dominos. I always look forward to a relaxing Sunday afternoon before the busy week ahead.
I grew up as an only child in a small farming community. I remember playing outside in the neighborhood with my friends until the corner street light came on. I enjoyed school and it was the best place to see my friends, organize our group social outings, and play on my volleyball team. While I loved my small town,
I chose to attend a university about 3 hours away for a new adventure.
Central Indiana quickly became my home away from home and I never left.
We're lucky to say that our closest friends, who are more like family, live nearby and they are going to be the very coolest bonus Aunts and Uncles around!
My previous love of a Friday night out and about has transformed over the years into enjoying a cozy evening at home, something good on the TV, and take-out with Joe.
Growing up I could usually be found playing with neighborhood friends or on my way to my baseball, basketball, or football games. Sports were a big part of my childhood and being a part of a team taught me many life lessons.
My parents are also a huge influence in my life. They have always encouraged me to dream big but taught me that hard work was the most important piece to help make sure I reached my goals. This is a lifelong lesson that I still carry with
I enjoy woodworking and recently built a beautiful workbench with my Dad. Photography is another hobby that I have pursued and one that I love. Our home has our favorite memories on display with pictures I've taken from our family gatherings and travels together.
As an adult, some of my biggest joys include traveling with Christine, going to concerts, and watching my favorite
teams, the Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts
