The two of us met at a professional conference in Boston, MA through a mutual friend back in 2016. After the conference, we both connected on social media and we started our relationship long distance. At the time, we were both working at private, evangelical universities. We both made plans to find new careers after discovering that our employers would fire us if they found out that we were in a relationship (yes, those types of employers still exist!).
After finding new jobs, we moved in together in our first place in Saint Paul, MN in 2017 and quickly knew that marriage and an eventual family were in our future together. We've now been married for over 2 years, and are feeling more than ever ready to begin expanding our family, especially now that we've moved into a home with lots of room for expanding!
We would be remiss to not mention a very important part of our family, our two Old English Sheepdog/Poodle mix pups, Beckett and Harlow. They're both incredibly laid back dogs that love walks, playing in the backyard, and having their ears scratched (and Harlow particularly loves cuddling).
We're beyond excited to welcome in the newest addition to our family with all the love we have to give. Our home is one that is absolutely full of laughter, understanding, positivity, and a love for exploring new things together.
We live in a 3 bedroom home in a suburban neighborhood in Minnesota. We've lived in this house since September of 2020, and have been gradually making this home into our safe haven! Our home was built in 2018, so we have no concerns about the safety of our home - we also recently installed a fence for our backyard too, making our property incredibly child-friendly.
In our current city we are fortunate to have some amazing schools and are surrounded by tons of truly wonderful neighbors (our neighborhood has regular block parties and is full of young couples like ourselves, many with young children). And we are just a block away from a large park dedicated to our neighborhood! One of our favorite things about our home location is our ability to go for walks daily with our dogs; we have many sidewalks and trails through our neighborhood. And we can't wait to add another family member to our walks! Living in Minnesota in the winter might sound challenging to some people, but we love it. We recently started cross-country skiing, with the nearest trails being only five minutes from our home.
