Who We Are
We met in 2007 when we both worked part-time in the mail room at our college and fell in love instantly. Seeking a new adventure we moved to Oakland, California after graduating and got married four years later. In 2018, we returned to Massachusetts to buy our first home! Even though we came back to the East Coast, we still consider Oakland our second home and love to visit whenever we can. Now we are ready for our next big adventure – starting a family!
Our relationship is best described as a partnership full of love, mutual respect and a desire to enjoy life together. On any given day we might be out at a basketball game (Go Warriors!), enjoying a bike ride on a nearby trail, or making music together in our living room (Abby plays guitar and Kate loves to sing). We are total board game nerds, and never turn down the chance to play our favorite games. During the Christmas season we always stage a silly photo in front of the tree and cannot wait to include our baby in this tradition. No matter the activity, you are guaranteed to find us smiling, laughing and enjoying life and each other’s company.
It was a dreary weekend here so we spent part of Sunday playing one of our old favorite board games called Spirit Island. It’s way too complicated to play very often, but a nice challenge every once in a while. Throughout the pandemic we’ve found ourselves spending many hours playing board games to pass the time and stay safe. We look forward to teaching our future child to enjoy much less complicated classics like Connect Four or Go Fish. We’re a game loving family!
Now that it’s not so cold we’ve been able to get out and about on our bikes more. On the weekends we enjoy leisurely rides on some of the local trails and love to stop for an iced tea or baked treat along the way. There’s an amazing bakery right off one of the trails! We also often go for shorter spins around the neighborhood to unwind after work. In the future we look forward to getting some bike accessories to help us tote a little one around with us on our adventures.
