NYC couple hoping to become first time parents!

Hi! We are Megan and Mark, a married couple in New York hoping to become first time parents through adoption anywhere in the US. We have so much fun together! We love to travel, spend time with family and friends, and go to concerts, the theater, and sports games. We really enjoy the little things like watching movies, coffee dates, and game nights. We are ready to give our unconditional love to a child and begin our family through the miracle of adoption!

We have always dreamed of becoming parents and raising a child in our loving home. We have so much love and support to share with this child as we start our family. Please know that we will unconditionally love and cherish your child and we will make sure that he/she will be proud to be adopted, and know the history and love of their birth family.

We are so grateful you took the time to consider us as you make this decision. We are happy to answer any other questions you may have about us, and we welcome the opportunity to get to know each other further.

Who We Are

We met using an online dating app, and decided to meet in person for a coffee date. We had an instant connection in person and arranged for a second date the next night. after leaving the coffee date, Megan texted her friends to tell them she met the man she was going to marry! Mark romantically proposed during a concert, and we were married in NYC in front of our family and friends.

ABOUT MARK:
I grew up in the Washington DC area with my parents. We have a large Filipino extended family rich with customs and traditions, and we are all very close. Football is a big part of my family, as is tennis. I like to collect sports memorabilia and Funko Pops, and I am passionate about traveling. I graduated with a degree in non profit management and I love my job as an administrator at a charter school where I've worked since 2009.

ABOUT MEGAN:
I grew up in Chicago with my parents and my sister. Both of my parents come from large families, so my childhood was full of many cousins and fun family traditions. I am very close with both sides of my family and we spend time with each other as much as possible. I love to read, drink coffee, spend time with my friends, go to the beach, play games, and watch movies. I have a degree in early childhood education and I've been a kindergarten teacher for 16 years! Teaching young children is my passion in life and there is nothing I'd rather do.

Adoption Diary

Adoption disruption

We’ve been quiet for a month or so because we had matched with an expectant mom and have been spending time talking with her daily, bonding with her, and supporting her emotionally as well as financially. We flew out to meet her and be present for the birth of the baby, and she ended up changing her adoption plan and deciding to parent her baby. Of course that is her right and always the first choice, and she was never obligated to follow the adoption plan and does not owe us anything, including an explanation. However we do feel we deserved to be told that she no longer wants to continue. Unfortunately after arriving in her state and her telling us she was at a family party, she posted a picture of the baby in the hospital on Instagram. We would have respected her choice and never gave her any reason to think we wouldn’t, so the lie hit us pretty hard. We remain hopeful that it will happen for us one day.

Last day of school!

Summer vacation starts now! Hoping to make a connection with our child’s first family this summer!
