Just your average FUN, LOVING, AMAZING, FUNNY, FAMILY here!

“I knew when I met you an adventure was going to happen.” – Winnie the Pooh

It’s true; life is an adventure. Some days we’re traveling to discover a lighthouse in a town we’ve never been to, and other days were cuddled up on the couch watching Frozen and eating popcorn. But every day, big and small, is still an adventure. For us, the best part of the adventure is having each other to enjoy it with.

Our life is perfectly imperfect. Our kitchen is never clean. The pets always make a mess. And we’re usually a few loads behind on laundry. But, our house is a ‘home’, and that home is a place of love. If we could tell you or give you anything, it would be peace of mind. When you’re lying awake at night thinking about your little one, you would know your child would be with an awesome family who loved that kid beyond their imagination. You would know that we are doing everything in our power to make sure they grow up strong and healthy. You would know that their racial and cultural heritage is being taught, embraced and celebrated. You would know we were lying awake too, probably stressing about what we packed for their lunch, if they had the right Crayons to take to school, and if they had enough money in their backpack to buy cookies at lunch.

We’d be peaking in their room at 2 am to make sure they were okay, even though we knew it was ridiculous, but that we couldn’t go to sleep until we checked just one more time. You would never have to question if they were loved, if they had the things they needed, if they got enough hugs, or told they were an amazing little person put on this earth to change the world. Having a toddler, we already know that feeling. Looking at something that has been on the earth for a few dozen months and thinking, “What amazing things is this little human going to do?” and “I can’t wait to see their adventure.”

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” – Christopher Robin

**Our family is home-study approved through our wonderful agency Greater Hopes. We are open to any race or gender and would be delighted to adopt a child ages birth - 4 years old. We are willing to travel anywhere in the United States.**

Who We Are

Stacey is the milk. Nate is the peanut butter cookie. We just go together well. In all seriousness, we are very fortunate to have a great marriage and a wonderful friendship. We believe the thing that ties everything together is supporting one another through the good times and bad.

We met back in 2010 when we both worked for the same hospital. We started to date in 2011. We got a house, two cats, a dog, got married in 2013, and… the rest is history! (we also currently have a goldfish named Mr. Fish).

Our love for fun, travel, the outdoors, and spending time at our family’s cottage on Lake Michigan keeps us busy – but we are always looking for our next adventure. A few years ago we started a family- and then came Tessa Rose, our adventurous toddler. Tessa will be a wonderful sister…. she LOVES babies and other kids! We have always wanted her to have a sibling and couldn’t imagine her growing up without one. One of our Uncles once said, “everything grows better in pairs!” We couldn’t imagine her not having someone to play with and get into (a little bit) of mischief with!

When we look into the future, we see our kids growing up and sharing their lives together, having each other to lean on and making wonderful memories together long after we’re gone.

That’s the story of us :)

Love Makes a Family

Hello! Happy Tuesday!
It’s been an eventful Spring in the Russell home!
We just found out Nate’s brother is coming home to visit from the Navy!
We haven’t seen him in over a year due to COVID, so this is a pretty big deal for us.

Something to share: Last night we were asked by our extended family what gender child we were hoping to adopt. What a great question! I thought I would share the answer here on our profile in case any families had that very same question :)

Our family is approved to adopt a child birth to 4 years old. Any gender or race! This picture is so telling: Being the ‘same’ does not make a family. LOVE makes our family! Please keep our family in your thoughts, and if you are looking for a loving, awesome and fun family- please reach out! We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Have a wonderful week.

Shipwreck Sunday!

Hello! It’s the Russell family checking in :)
It was back to work as usual for us today, but we had a really fun weekend and wanted to share the details of our day trip: We got to see a SHIPWRECK!!!!

Yes… A real life shipwreck washed up from the 1800’s and we drove out to the lakeshore to see it. Turns out, there was a beautiful lighthouse and pier to explore too.

Afterwards, we stopped at Culvers for chicken tenders and ice-cream. As I say, life is good.

We hope with all our hearts that another little munchkin will join our family. Sometimes, I think we check our profile messages 100 times a day… we are just so excited about being parents again. As we see our daughter grow, we understand how important it is for her to have a sibling to spend time and play with. And we want so badly to love (and maybe spoil… just a little) another munchkin.

If you are reading our profile and want to connect, please reach out! Even to just ask a question or find out a little more info about our family. We are super laid back and welcome any questions you may have.

Until next time… have a wonderful week.

Love,
Russell Family
xoxo
