I bet you're wondering what our story is! Jared and I have known each other since we were 15! We've been married 10.5 years now and we have adopted two wonderful kiddos. But boy-we had a journey to get to where we are now!
A couple months after dating, Jared was diagnosed with cancer. Luckily, he has been cancer-free since - but it took our chances of a biological child away. That was ok though, more than ok! Andrea has always had it in her heart to adopt since she was a young child and Jared was definitely on board!
Being young we didn't know where to start. Despite our feelings to adopt, our option at the time was to do treatments-which failed. We then decided to foster. We enjoyed every minute of it but it definitely was a grieving process once they were reunited. Our hearts were broken a few times to where we just needed to take a few months to de-stress.
One morning Andrea was woken up with this huge feeling in her heart saying "we gotta give it another chance!" Soon we were blessed with our son, Kian and little did we know we would later be blessed with our daughter, Journi. It was God's plan all along! And here we are again with that huge feeling in our hearts wanting to adopt once more!
Yes, we had a struggle getting to where we are now, but this journey has taught us so much and changed us for the better! We are more humble and understanding of life's struggles and the feelings that come along with them. We can relate to so much more in life.
It has made us appreciate God's special blessings such as family, friends and the time we have together. Our hearts are so much fuller from all we have experienced together. God is good and it is very important to us to teach your/our children that!
Our home is located in a safe neighborhood outside of town. We are minutes away from the school, playgrounds, nature preserves and the beach!
Our neighborhood is seriously full of the greatest people. We all look out for one another and have become close friends!
Our home has four bedrooms with plenty of space! Our friends always comment that is feels so cozy and welcoming! We have a nice size back yard that is fenced in with plenty of space to run and play!
Just down the street is a canal we like to go fishing at and also a small race track for all the neighborhood kids to do their off-roading on!
We love our little neighborhood!
Hi there! I think what makes me a great partner is number one my faith in God. I'm also very patient and laid back. I am very responsible and always work my hardest to achieve my goals and to provide well for my family.
The traits that help make me a great father would again have to be my faith patience, and how responsible I am. I am also not a quitter-.whether it's a health issue, something at work, a new hobby - I never give up! And that is important to teach our children. I'm also a kid at heart and love the time I spend playing with our current children and I am very excited to welcome another. I'm the dad that always looks forward to coming home after work , helping my son with his homework and spending all my free time with my family! I'm the dad who loves making fun pancakes on Saturdays just to see them giggle. I sincerely love my family with all my being.
Hello! What makes me a great partner? Hmmm, I'd have to say my faith of course but also I'm the more sensitive one. I always put other's feelings ahead of my own and I am very understanding and forgiving.
I think those traits also make me a great parent because I can teach our children how to be kind and to know their feelings matter and it's ok to have certain feelings at times. I also love to encourage! I love seeing people, especially our kids, try their very best and feel so proud of themselves for what they have accomplished.
I'm also the crafty one and the party planning one ! I try to have fun creative things for them to do with their neighborhood friends!
