We met in April 2015 after being set up by two of our family members who were coworkers and had decided we’d make a great couple. Our first date was a hike in a beautiful wildlife preserve and included David’s dog, Stanley. The next stop was a coffee house, and then - because Stanley had rolled in something gross on the hike - onto a dog wash. It’s a good sign when a first date lasts six hours (even with a smelly dog!). We both immediately knew we’d found someone special.
We spent the next year growing closer and then, 364 days after that first date, David proposed to Chad on a trip to New Orleans. We got married the next summer in a beautiful outdoor ceremony surrounded by family and friends, and have been going strong ever since.
For several years we lived in Portland, Maine, but once we chose to start growing our family, we decided that it would be best to move back home. For our future child, Buffalo is filled with grandparents and many supportive aunts and uncles. Also, we have stayed close with many of our high school friends, who have been in our lives for 15 or more years, meaning this child will have just as many unofficial “aunts” and “uncles,” as well. For us, some of our fondest childhood memories were running around with our cousins. Luckily, we both have siblings nearby who are raising young children of their own as well, so we can look forward to a child getting to do the same!
What matters most to us? We are hoping for the opportunity to raise a child of our own in a happy, loving household, and make sure he or she is supported, cared for, and able to create a lifetime of happy family memories. Whether it's family game nights, baking cookies together, or going on hikes, we can't wait be dads.
We live in a 3 bedroom home just outside of Buffalo, New York. Our house is in the middle of a cute village, which means we are walking distance to a big playground, the local elementary school, restaurants, shops and parks. We love our neighbors (and their kids love coming over to feed and play with the chickens!), and most of our friends and family live within a half hour drive.
I am 32. I work as a registered nurse and help to take care of patients in hospice as well as those struggling with mental health problems. Personally and professionally I strive to be as kind, caring, compassionate and accepting as possible.
I have one brother who is married and has three awesome kids that I love seeing. My father passed away, but my mother lives in Buffalo and is the most caring mother and grandmother anybody could ask for. I love anything that has to do with the outdoors. Hiking, birdwatching, kayaking, gardening etc. I can't wait to share my love of the environment with my kid someday!
I am 34 years old and I work as a veterinarian. I work in a primary care clinic, and I also occasionally work at a veterinary emergency hospital. I love working with animals and getting to help the people who care about them, as well.
I have two younger sisters, a younger brother, and a twin sister who passed away when I was younger. One of my sisters lives nearby and is now pregnant with her second child. I love having nephews and nieces and getting to watch them grow.
My interests include hiking, traveling, reading and hanging out with family and friends. I can't wait to share our home with a baby and am excited to be a father!
