Loving couple ready to be dads and go to infinity and beyond!

Hello! We are Michael and Javier from New York’s Hudson Valley.

Right off the bat we want you to know that we truly admire your courage and strength in considering an adoption plan for yourself and your baby. We would love to hear your story and talk to you about your hopes and dreams for the future.

We promise that our home will always provide love and security. We promise that we won’t take life too seriously, and we’ll always abide by our family motto: patience and faith. That is our commitment as we embark on this new journey. We look forward to the moments of understanding and laughter, love and growth throughout the years.

Thank you for taking time to get to know us and our story!

Who We Are

Our first date was in June of 2013 at a coffee shop in New York City. What was supposed to be a short coffee date turned into a long dinner, then a walk through the city, and a nightcap of frozen yogurt. When we reminisce about that first meeting now, we both remember immediately getting the feeling that we had known each other much longer than one night.

It didn’t take long for both of us to realize that we share similar stories and common values: openness, creativity, and family. Our relationship took off, and in July of 2015, we were married in a small ceremony surrounded by family and close friends.

As parents, we can’t wait to spend time together as a family: cooking, game nights, movie marathons, vacations, and reading our favorite books together at bedtime. We look forward to teaching our child a love for reading and animals, a respect for others, and an exploration in creativity.

We are committed to raising our children bilingual, teaching both English and Spanish (Javi is fluent in both). It is of the utmost importance to us to expose our children to people of different races, cultures and religions.

Adoption Diary

D.I.Y. Nursery

Ever since buying our first home, I’ve been trying to hone my D-I-Y skills. The biggest project I’ve tackled so far is taking one of our spare bedrooms and converting it into a warm and inviting nursery for our future child. The plan was to add bead board to the room, build a new radiator cover and liven up the walls with a splash of fresh paint. Easier said than done! At times during the process I was scared that I had bitten off more than I could chew. I would look at the mess I created and was scared that the finished project would not come out like we had dreamed. However, I kept reminding myself to trust the process and have faith that, in the end, everything would work out. After about 3 weeks of hard work, we managed to pull it off!. We love the end result (we went classic Winnie the Pooh)! - Javi

Sew Much Fun

As we continue prepping our home for the hopeful arrival of a new family member, I’ve been thinking a lot about what kind of quilt I would like to make to display in the baby’s future nursery. I love to quilt and have been honing my skills for a few years now. I enjoy making these creations not only for myself but to give as gifts to others. One of my favorite quilts I have ever made was a sailboat-themed one for my nephew. His nursery had an ocean theme and I thought the sailboats would compliment it well. To be honest, it took a lot of trial and error to get the sailboats just right but in the end of I was ecstatic with the results. Recently, I made a Disney Princess quilt for my niece. She instantly fell in love with it and began to carry it around with her wherever she went. I love quilting and can’t wait to create one for the very special child we hope to welcome into our family one day. I’m thinking classic Winnie the Pooh! - Michael
