Amy & Luna

Dear expectant mother,

Thank you! We don’t know if there are any two words that can express how profoundly grateful we are for you considering open adoption for your child. We’re Amy and Luna from San Francisco. We’ve been discussing our path to becoming parents since our second date and adoption has always been a big part of the conversation. We are so excited to welcome a child into our family and we’re grateful for your consideration. We look forward to learning more about you.

Who We Are

We met in downtown San Francisco on a chilly winter evening, have been together since 2015 and married since 2017. We’ve enjoyed growing as a couple over the years and are excited to begin the next step in our family’s journey. We’re both aunts to nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and long for the opportunity to nurture a child in our own home.

Balance is very important to us in our lives and in our home. We’re a good team, we take the time to be present for each other, to listen to each other’s needs and to make space for the things that each of us are passionate about. Amy is passionate about cooking, often making incredible messes in the kitchen that, more often than not, end up being a culinary success. Luna has recently developed an interest in indoor gardening which has brought new life into our home. The sunniest window is now the home of vegetables, fruits and bunches of flowers that bring us joy when they bloom.

Amy is a teacher who works with students who have learning disabilities and Luna works in two worlds, one is technology and the other isTraditional Chinese Medicine. We are both passionate about the work that we do but our home life is really what we look forward to. We love to build community and often do this by going to the same spots for breakfast on the weekend or coffee during the work week. Our friends and neighbors know us by name and this makes our City feel small.

Snow Escape & Family Time

We snuck away from SF to head up to the snow for a few days. It’s been a beautiful change from our daily walks on the Embarcadero to get into the trees and do a little snowshoeing. While we like to think of ourselves as pretty fit and we get our exercise in - this was HARD! Snow up to our knees at times, we both fell and were pretty awkward walking in our new “shoes” but it was worth it just to be outside. The hot apple cider once we got inside wasn’t a bad way to end our adventure :)

We also love getting to the snow because we get to spend some time with Amy’s brother who lives here. Getting to double dip with wonderful people in a wonderful place, lucky us!

Wondering about a new dog

Earlier in the pandemic we had to say goodbye to our 13 year old senior rescue dog, Archie. He was the first dog that Amy ever had (Dad was allergic so no pets growing up). Archie was part of our family for almost 3 years. When we adopted him from our local shelter we were told he might only have a few months left to live, but we fell in love and knew we wanted to bring this little guy home.

We loved him up good, took him for lots and lots of walks, let him be his own man, and made sure he got to take his medicine with peanut butter (he insisted).

We’ve been missing having a pup in our house and while in pandemic it seems like everyone around us has brought a new dog home. So, while we’re not sure yet if it’s a yes or a no, we keep looking to see if any of our local shelters have a nice small to medium size dog who needs a good home.
