  • Museum visits with David's mom! She's an accomplished artist herself is always drawing and knitting for the family.
  • Aeriel in front the the house where Louisa May Alcott wrote Little Women. This book is important to Aeriel because her mom used to read it to her.
  • David at Walden Pond. He attributes his love of nature in part because of the book On Walden Pond.
  • Teaching our niece to play croquet in the front yard!

Our lives!

  • Aeriel loves to read! She's always the first one to grab a book and read out loud to her nieces and nephews.
  • We love to be outdoors. Every year we take a family hike with Aeriel's mom.
  • Our friends are so so important to us. They're like family! Here are all the boys—including the littlest in the friend group.
  • Cooking and eating together is a huge part of our lives and something we love to share with our family.
  • We're so lucky to get to spend so much time on the water. Here we are with our nieces on a late summer day.

  • This is our dog Q. Don't be alarmed. She actually loves kisses. And food. So in other words, she fits right into our little family unit.
  • Q also loves the water. She's not that sure about surfing yet though.
  • Ten minutes from our dock is a clear blue bay. We love to swim and fish and meet friends there.
  • How we spend a typical summer weekend. We love finding hermit crabs and other shells for our littlest friends.
  • We're also both avid surfers. This summer we taught our 8 year old niece how to surf! Here's Aeriel on a small day.
  • We're also both art lovers! We love teaching our many nieces and nephews about the art world.
  • We have ELEVEN! nieces and nephews! They're all so excited to welcome a new playmate into the bunch—especially the youngest one who can't wait to finally be a 'big' cousin.
  • New York is such a great, exciting place to live. Our neighborhood is safe and within walking distance of over 10 parks! Just a block away is one of the city's top elementary schools.
  • A typical summer Saturday—beach, boats and laughs with this group of amazing Aunties-and-Uncles in waiting.
  • Runs with our little pup at our local beach. We all love the beach.
  • When we're not at the beach, we're usually at a gallery. We love to share this passion with our nieces and nephews.
  • Surfing in New York City? Yep! Here we are in Queens on an early summer day.
  • With seven inches of snow on the ground, we're really missing these summer days with our friends!

  • We are so lucky to get to spend time in Italy almost every year. Here we are taking some time in Lake Cuomo a few years ago.

Our Families

  • Every year we do a hiking weekend with Aeriel's mom and step-dad. Here's David with Aeriel's mom!
  • David is from a large family and they're all very close. Here he is with siblings on our dock.
  • We're so lucky to enjoy a close relationship with our families. We get together with David's whole family—all 21 of us!—every summer for a family vacation.
  • Here we are having fun with Aeriel's mom at a ski resort in New York. We're so glad we all love to laugh together so much.
  • David's father is a patient and involved grandparent, spending time each week with this eleven grandchildren teaching them to read, reading Bible passages and guiding them through life.
  • We're so lucky to have family nearby! We spend every birthday with our niece. Last year, we bought her a bike which came in VERY handy during the pandemic.
  • Each year we spend Thanksgiving with David's sister. Pre-dinner, we all run a Turkey Trot. Here we are with one of David's nephews.
  • Whenever Aeriel and her sister and brother are together, there's always a lot of laughter.
  • David gleefully agrees to be a human billboard for his nieces.

Our Home

  • We live in a light filled space full of art our friends made. Our house is on the water and we can be swimming in the ocean in under 10 minutes.
  • We love spending time outside together on the deck. In the summer, we'll have breakfast there.
  • Our favorite spot on our property is the patio near the water. We gather with friends around the fire pit to grill and chat.
  • The fireplace is perfect for warming up your belly on those cold winter days! Cozy cozy cozy.
  • Aeriel trims the tree while Q does quality control.
  • We're so lucky to split our time between Brooklyn and the shores of Long Island.Here's the view from the park near our apartment! We <3 New York.
