Jonathan and I met online! We both were not completely invested in online dating so we were on a free site. We had both pretty much resolved to living a single life. But we caught each other's attention and started dating. When I first saw where he lived, I had to ask myself if I really liked this guy or if I just liked his home and its beauty. I was slower to warm up to the relationship and Jonathan knew that. It impressed me because he continuously put his heart out there even though I wasn't sure. I eventually knew that I loved him and Jonathan surprised me and proposed.
When we met, Jonathan lived on Vashon Island and I lived in the Seattle area. I happily moved to the island, it’s such an amazing place. We have a mutual interest in plants in that I love vegetables and medicinal herbs and Jonathan designs gardens for a living. Every year we have a huge garden that provides us food with which we enjoy cooking delicious and healthy meals together. We also enjoy hiking, traveling, and camping together. Our most recent travels include time visiting family in Australia and spending a month traveling in Bali and Lombok, Indonesia. As we write this now, we have just returned from a five-day backpacking trip in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. While we do enjoy traveling, we also love to be at home, relaxing and enjoying our home together.
We have found that we share many of the same values. Spending time together and spending time with family is important to us. We are both invested in living a healthy lifestyle through food, movement, relationships, and work/life balance. We are both very responsible and hardworking, you can depend on us when we say we will do something. Our spiritual life is very important too and we enjoy attending our church together. We both love our little Havanese dog Jasper. He’s a loving and playful little puppy.
We look forward to the day when we have a child with which we can share our home and lives. We have tried for a biological family since the early days of our marriage and we now realize that there is a different and wonderful plan God has for us.
We live in a small home on Vashon Island in Puget Sound just a short ferry ride from Seattle. Our home is nestled onto 2.5 acres of rural land that has been part of the Morse family for 3 generations and over 60 years. It is surrounded by a forest of tall fir and cedar trees. We share the property with Jonathan’s parents who live just a few short steps up the hill. Our home is located on the shore of Fern Cove, an amazingly beautiful place no matter what the season. We have a large garden full of flowers and fruits and vegetables, including Asian pear trees, apple trees, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries.
I would describe myself as kind, compassionate, nurturing, intelligent, loyal, dependable and hardworking. In my work as a Naturopathic Doctor, I have so much compassion for my patients and what they are going through. Part of what I enjoy about being a Naturopathic Doctor is nurturing my patients along to good health, giving them the support that they need. Obviously, this also applies to my relationships with my family and friends. I play a supportive role in whatever they are going through, knowing that listening is one of the most important things I can do. I look forward to the day where I can nurture a child through his/her childhood. I feel it’s one of the most important roles one can take on in life. I also feel that being loyal and dependable are important characteristics in any relationship. You can trust what I say and know that I will follow through, whatever it is.
Lisa would describe me as hard working, grounded, loyal, and friendly. I am thoughtful and intentional about how I engage in my relationship with Lisa, our greater family, and people in general. I am committed to putting family first in my life be that in my choice of career or the time I spend outside of work. I constantly work to broaden my knowledge and understanding of the world around me, and I love to share this passion for learning with others. Be it a new skill I am applying to my landscaping business, a period of history, current events, or one of my many other interests I am always seeking to know and understand new things.
Some of the traits I have developed over time have been that patience, listening, and compassion. At work, I strive to be more than a boss, rather I want to lead and mentor my employees. I feel that the most important part of our lives is the relationships we have, and I look forward to being a dad to your child. I am committed to loving and raising him or her to become a happy, contented, and successful human being whose spirit will shine for others.
