Our journey began when we met in 2006 as college freshmen. We quickly became friends and discovered that we had many of the same values and goals in life. We fell in love and later married in 2014. We bought our current home in 2016, and we adopted our dog, Jack, within two weeks after moving in! He is so much fun, and we couldn’t imagine living in our house without him. Jack was only 7 weeks old when we adopted him from a local shelter! He is currently about 4 years old, and he has grown up into a wonderful dog. We can’t wait to see him get into mischief with a little brother or sister.
We live in a beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood in Long Island, New York, with our dog, Jack. Our community is a wonderful place for a family - there are lots of parks and playgrounds, tons of family-oriented activities, and we are a 10 minute drive to the beach. We live in a quaint village with tons of shopping, restaurants, ice cream shops, and more. We have been waiting a long time to turn our spare bedroom into a nursery, and we cannot wait to welcome a child into our home.
Fun fact: We have a HUGE tree in our backyard that is approximately 300 years old! It is so cool to have an amazing piece of history on our property. We hope that one day we can build a tree house for our children!
I grew up on Long Island with my parents and my brother. I was involved with the arts from an early age, as my mom was a music teacher. I started dancing at age 3 and never looked back - but I also played piano and French Horn throughout elementary, middle, and high school as well.
I also developed a love for history - I had a very influential social studies teacher in 7th grade. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher of some kind, but I decided in 7th grade that I wanted to teach social studies. I attended Siena College, where I also met Kevin, and received my BA in History with a certificate to teach grades 7-12. After graduating from Siena in 2010, I started my Master's at Hofstra University that fall, as well as my first teaching job as a high school social studies teacher.
In 2012, I had the opportunity to purchase the dance studio that I grew up dancing at (and later teaching at), which was my dream come true. I continued to teach high school until 2014, and then I left my job to run my studio full time. Though it is certainly hard work to run a business, I love my students, and I love what I do every day. The beauty of running my own business also means I get to create my own schedule, which means I can have a more flexible schedule when we have children.
Kevin on Kelly:
"Kelly has been my best friend for over 13 years. She is passionate, loving, smart, loyal and the most hardworking person I know. Her passion for teaching and love of dance are just two of my favorite things about Kelly. She isn’t just my best friend and soulmate; she is my role model. On top of managing her own business, teaching kids dance, spending time with her friends & family she also is a leader in our local community.
I truly believe Kelly is the best person I know.
I can’t wait to see her become a Mom because I have no doubt it will be another reason for me to admire her."
I was raised in Queens, and then my family moved to Long Island when I was 12. I grew up with one brother and a ton of cousins - and my favorite memories growing up were summers on the beach with my entire extended family.
My passion is movies and TV. Growing up, I loved Star Wars, Steven Spielberg films, and any sci-fi or fantasy like Lord of the Rings.
I attended Siena College, where I received my BS in Marketing - and also met Kelly. I always knew that I loved movies and TV and wanted to do something in entertainment, but when I started school I wasn't quite sure how to go about it or exactly what I wanted to do with my life.
When I graduated college in 2010, I started my first job in marketing that fall. It wasn't until just a couple of years ago that I landed a marketing job with a TV network. I now get to work on some awesome shows, including a couple of favorites, and this job is a fantastic foot in the door into the entertainment industry.
Kelly on Kevin:
"Kevin is one of the most generous, giving, loyal people I have ever met. He is extremely devoted to his family and friends, and I know that he will be just as devoted to our children, if not more. Kevin is easygoing, hilarious, and loves to enjoy life to the fullest. He always keeps me laughing! He is also truly a kid at heart, and I know that he will be the best, most attentive dad. Kevin is an amazing partner, who is so supportive of everything I do."
