After many years of looking for the perfect match, we met online and had our first date at Chili’s. After hours of laughing, we knew we were meant to be. We bonded over our love for teaching and sports, and we were married a year later, in 2014. Laura grew up in the suburbs of Chicago as the oldest of three children. She has been a teacher for 20 years at the same school, teaching first and second grade, and loves
her job with all her heart. She speaks Spanish and is deeply invested in the school community. Joe is Filipino and grew up as an only child of two loving parents in Chicago. He has been a special education teacher for nine years. Besides teaching, Joe loves sports, music, and teaching marching band.
We have a beautiful two-story, five-bedroom home in the suburbs. We love having cookouts and making s’mores in the
firepit on our back patio. We also have a playset and large yard for swimming, running, and playing ball. We built our home in a small subdivision with many young families. Many children play baseball and touch football in the play area and ride their bikes
around the neighborhood or on the nearby bike trail. We also live by a farm and visit the cows often. We’re driving distance from the city, where we visit zoos, museums, theaters, and restaurants and
watch our favorite sports teams.
In the words of Joseph -Laura is not only my wife, mother to our child, but my best friend. She is your number one supporter. She encourages you and has the biggest heart for her family, friends and students. Laura shows all heart and faith in everything she does. She loves to socialize with family and friends. She loves working out going on bike rides and running. Her heart bleeds true for her favorite sports teams. Laura is not only a teacher at school but also at home. She takes care of her family and plays with and teaches our child how to be good, follow directions and obey his parents. I am lucky to be with such a beautiful, strong and passionate woman.
In the words of Laura-Joseph is an amazing man. He is the best husband and father around. He is sweet, sensitive, funny and adventurous. He keeps life fun and exciting planning trips and adventures. We spend our days laughing and loving. He plays sports with our son in the backyard, watches wrestling with him and teaches him to be a good human. We are lucky to have Joe in our lives.
