A Letter from Stevi
Dearest Brave One,
We haven’t met yet, but I want you to know that I admire and respect you. I see you during this hard time, and can already tell you are brave, courageous, and loving to even be considering an adoption plan for your child. As you search for the right family, I’d love to share a little more about myself and why I want to adopt.
Aside from being a wife, my calling and greatest joy in life is being a mother. As a young girl, I used to dream of running an orphanage so I could “love all the babies”. I had tons of baby dolls growing up and knew that I wanted to be a mom more than anything when I grew up. Having twins has always been a dream.
Adoption has always held a special place in my heart. I have multiple cousins who were adopted and my sister-in-law was as well. My relationship with all of them, and serving at orphanages in Guatemala during High School, really ignited my desire to one day expand my family through adoption.
Pregnancies and postpartums were extremely rough on my body. After a few consultations we decided pregnancy wouldn’t be a good option for me going forward and the timing seemed to favor us starting our adoption journey. My husband and I both come from families of 4 kids and I especially love the relationships I have with my siblings now that we’re all grown up.
We have two biological kids who we love more than anything - and we can hardly wait to grow our family again. I have learned so much through our experience so far and know Kendrick and I both still have a lot more to learn. God has been guiding our steps this entire process and we know He will continue to give us direction.
I so look forward to meeting you. If you reach out to us, you will find my heart’s desire is to learn about you and help you find the support and resources to keep your child if that’s your desire. I will be praying for and supporting you no matter your decision. You are not alone, and if you pick us to love your child forever we promise to love them unconditionally. This isn’t something we take lightly - we have been praying about the timing of it all for over 10 years.
