A Summer Favorite - Blueberry Picking
We picked 28lbs of blueberries today. 28lbs!
We love blueberries and always try to get enough to freeze so we can enjoy them year round in oatmeal, homemade popsicles, pancakes, and other yummy treats.
We have been picking blueberries every summer for about 4 years now and it’s become a family favorite activity. This was the first year where both kids actually contributed quite a bit to our overall haul so it went faster than usual. This place lets you eat as you pick, so the kids always come home with full bellies. Haha!
Kendrick served on the “James Brigade” this morning - his team did some yard work for a widow in our area. It’s such a wonderful opportunity to love and serve others.
We also mowed and caught up on some weeding while the kids made “soup” (water, leaves, pine cones, etc - you get the idea!) and ran around the yard.
It’s been a nice and fairly cool summer in Washington so far - we’re really enjoying it! We’re looking forward to adding a baby or two to our adventures. While we’re still waiting to connect, we’re thinking about planning a day trip to Mt Rainier and do more hikes this summer also.
