We love Halloween
If you didn’t sense it from our Wizard of Oz profile photo, we love Halloween.
Being a parent has just been so fun for us. It helped that we were in our 30s, no FOMO on things with friends, and were stable and in love.
It’s been just a joy to watch our girl experience things for the first time. Swimming. Making a snow angel. And every holiday — including Halloween.
Last year was pretty epic — she decided our family would be the Wizard of Oz, giving roles to everyone, including grandma and grandpa, her aunt and uncle and fur-cousin. It was a lot of ruby slippers and Cowardly Lion costumes to buy, but worth every penny.
We honestly don’t do a ton of trick-or-treating, just about 5 houses in the neighborhood Suzy grew up in. It was more about having a little party with little cousins and other aunts and uncles. How much candy can a 3-year-olds have anyway?
We’re still looking forward to a scaled down version of it with out “pod.” And Gigi is planning all the costumes — with more of a creepy theme after watching a lot of “Scooby-Doo” this year.
We’ll leave you with a photo of us in a Halloween past. The little monkey, the big banana and the zookeeper.
