Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about our family,

It's difficult to know the "right" thing to say; however, we promise to be honest about everything we share with you both within this profile and in the future (should we be in contact with one another), while doing our best to convey our individual personalities, hobbies, hopes, and more.

We are a goofy, creative, curious, and imperfect bunch with a strong, loving family.

We seek out the unique and appreciate people of other cultures and ethnicities. Life is never perfect, but we certainly keep it interesting in our family.

Along with our two biological children, Beau (age 12), and Genevieve "Gigi" (age 7), we are eager to add a special little someone to our family. We are looking forward to reading together, going on adventures, snuggling, and continuing to build our annual family traditions.

If you decide to make an adoption plan, we want to assure you that we will respect you throughout the process and beyond. We promise to cherish and love your child and provide a safe, happy, and healthy home and life.

Who We Are

We met on Match.com (in 2005) before online dating was "in"! At the time, Tim was living in Minneapolis and I was living in the Chicago suburbs. Tim always likes to describe the beginnings of our relationship as "old-fashioned" despite how met. This is because we spent the first five weeks emailing almost daily. We would write each other and then the other person would respond in sort of a Q&A format. We learned so much about each other. We were both ready to meet "the one" and this translated to us being very honest and direct with one another. We met up one fateful weekend in Madison, WI and have been together ever since! We were married in 2006 and had our son in 2007 and then our daughter in 2012. Life hasn't always been easy, but we are a solid team that has similar values and goals. Politically we are both liberal. While Tim and I were both raised Catholic (he was actually an alter boy:-), we don't attend church regularly. However, at dinner each night we, along with our kids thank "our great spirit" for our meal and all of life's blessings. Our daughter enjoys attending a weekly bible camp at a local church. We have been seeking a local congregation to join more for the sense of community it would bring vs. the religious education.

Adoption Diary

Making room for a little one…!

Our youngest is 7 and will be moving into a her own room next week. She’s so excited to paint the walls “pale teal” and add decals of mermaids and sea creatures (her words). It’s bittersweet, but also exciting as we are starting to set up the space for what we hope will be a baby brother or sister for our kids! We have picked out the theme (it’s called Belle and Boo!). We plan to ask the kids’ almost 92 year-old Great Gramma (who is an artist) to paint the artwork for the nursery.

Thank You for Visiting Our Adoption Profile

We want to thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child.

We truly appreciate your kindness and strength and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Tim and Sarah
