Chris and I met at a concert on the Lower East Side in the summer of 2005. After our first date we have been nearly inseparable. We are most happy when we are at a concert, in the garden, at the beach or in the mountains.
We have worked over the last 16 years to grow together placing love, compassion, and forgiveness at the center of our relationship. We value kindness and honesty above all else.
We live in a large 2 bedroom loft in DUMBO, Brooklyn.
We live two blocks from Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Our home is both child friendly and safe. It is full of toys, but all unsafe items are locked away.
I have spent my life surrounding myself with children. Since my teenage baby sitting years I have deeply enjoyed working with kids of all ages. I have been in education since 1998 and most recently left an Assistant Head of School position to focus on the family. In July of 2016, my foster daughter arrived at 10 weeks of age and my heart grew much much larger. I am patient, kind, but most importantly I am really really fun. Laughing makes my heart sing. So do dance parties.
I am a born and bred Brooklynite. I grew up in a house with two adopted sisters with whom I am very close. I work with my father and plan to take over the family business within a few years. Losing my mother in 2010 was devastating, but gave me greater perspective on what's most important in life - showing up and loving my family. Becoming a father via the foster to adopt program in NYC changed my life, and I cannot wait to add another child to our family.
