Our Story

We met on After discovering we had a mutual friend, we each got her "approval" and chatted online for a bit before meeting in person. Amy surprised Henry at work the afternoon before our planned dinner date. We each knew right away that this was something special, and we've been inseparable ever since!

We both grew up on Long Island, and now live in a quiet residential neighborhood in NYC. Amy has one younger brother, who's married and has one daughter. Henry has an older sister, married with a daughter and a son. We're very close with our families and it seems there is a big get-together at least once a month.

We have two rescue cats who entertain us every day. They're great cuddle buddies too, when they're not trying to steal our food.

We love our life and have worked hard to get where we are. We've come through some hardships and are always grateful for what we have, and the friends and family who supported us along the way.

If you've read this far you know family is important to us. If you choose to place your child with us, that family will include you! It's very important that our child knows where they came from, so we'll work with you to find an arrangement you're comfortable with.

Our Home

photo of adoptive family's home Our home is a two-bedroom apartment that we've owned since we got married. We're on the top floor, which gives us great views of the neighborhood and a close up look at the local birds.

The living room has plenty of space to play, and the warm cozy kitchen (Amy's favorite room) has plants on the windowsill. Our guest bedroom is bright, cheerful and ready for a crib, and there's plenty of storage space for all the gear a growing baby needs.

The neighborhood is very quiet with a suburban feel and tree lined streets. Some of our neighbors have been here for many years, and there's a great community spirit on display at our annual block party.

A walk down the block brings us to a shopping center and the local library. There are also private and public elementary schools within walking distance.

We're a short drive away from a historic farm, several public parks, and most of Amy's family. Henry's family is about three hours away in Upstate New York.

Our home is so full of love but there's still room for a special little one!

adoptive family photo - Amy Growing up I loved to create, and studied Fashion Design in college. Now I enjoy sewing kids' clothes, reading, cooking & baking, posting photos of my cats, exploring the city, and finding new ways to be thrifty.

My family is very close and I consider my aunts, uncles, and cousins as immediate family. I'm one of eleven cousins, and the next generation has nine kids already. There's usually someone to play with at family gatherings, which always include great food and lots of fun.

I've always known I would be a mom. As an older sister and cousin it's very natural for me to care for others. I feel a real connection with children, who sometimes have a hard time being heard and understood. It also helps that I don't take myself too seriously, and am always down for some silly fun.‚Äč

Henry is my rock and has been by my side through some very tough times. He's very down to earth, and pretty quiet, but still manages to surprise me all the time, whether it's taking on a new side job, or making a funny observation that leaves me crying with laughter. I know he looks forward to sharing that laughter and love with a child!

adoptive family photo - Henry Growing up with a bunch of other kids on the block, we played lots of sports. Later on, I started playing pool, and was in a pool league for about 10 years.

For entertainment I love watching and reading sci-fi and fantasy stories, especially Star Wars. I like photography too and am usually the one taking stealthy candid shots at family gatherings. What I enjoy most is hanging out with my wife, friends and family.

I have a very close relationship with my parents, sister, brother in law, niece and nephew. Amy and I visit them in Upstate NY every couple of months. I was fortunate enough to watch my niece and nephew grow up - I would go home on my lunch breaks to spend time with them while my father was babysitting. I have a couple of friends that I've been close with for most of my life. They're proof that you don't need to be related to be family.

Amy has always made me strive to be a better person. Whether it was switching to a better job, seeing new places, or trying different foods. I'm still a picky eater, but she'll make sure our child tries new things. Amy keeps my feet on the ground while allowing me to have my head in the clouds.

Being a husband and uncle have been, and are, wonderful. I would love to bring a child into our life and add "Father" to my list of titles!
