Adoption is a very important part of our lives since I, Jadyn, am adopted. We see the blessings that adoption has brought to my life and my family's life. I have always wanted to adopt children and Shane has been very supportive of my desire to adopt from the beginning. Because of the community we are surrounded by, we have seen an open adoption thrive first hand. My best friend's older sister made an adoption plan for her baby and placed her with an amazing family. We have seen their relationship grow into one big beautiful family and can see how it's been good for everyone involved. We think it is very beneficial for a child to have more love and cheerleaders in their life. It has personally been a blessing to me to get to know my biological family over the last five years. My biological family adores me, Shane and my parents. They love and respect my parents for raising me with so much joy and stability in my life. I especially treasure getting to know my birthmother's mom before she passed away. We had many similarities which I treasure. I am excited at the prospect of having adoption in common with a baby placed in our care. I feel like I will be able to understand them and talk to them openly about adoption. I want to help them to understand how deeply loved they are by two sets of parents!
We live in a new community in our city and were able to build our home in this area because of my, Shane's, field of work. A great deal of young families seem to be attracted to our subdivision, which means there are many young kids playing together. We have a neighborhood pool and playground where many choose to spend their evenings or weekends. A city park is located about a mile from us where there are playgrounds, baseball fields, football fields and even a duck pond.
Our house has four bedrooms and is built on a modest lot with a backyard that is perfectly sized for our two little dogs. Jadyn has turned one of our bedrooms into her sewing room where she can work on projects and enjoy her hobbies. I have always wanted a garage to work in and enjoy my hobbies, so with this house, that dream came true. Now, I have a work bench that allows me to work on small mechanic projects, a perfect space to work on my cars, and even have an air conditioner to help it stay cool in the hot summer months.
We have two dogs that are absolutely our beloved fur babies! Their names are Chevy and Scarlett and they're both female Maltipoos. We have had both of them from the time they were puppies. Chevy is 5 years old and is the white and black dog. You can find her snuggled up with Jadyn or playing ball outside! Scarlett is 3 years old and is the mostly black pup. She is always making us laugh with her funny little personality. She likes to carry her toys with her around the house and is definitely a self entertainer.
My name is Jadyn and I'm excited to introduce myself to you. My friends would say that I have a very bubbly personality and that I tend to be a very optimistic person. I love surrounding myself with friends and family, as well as being around kids. They’re so honest and can be very funny! I was raised an only child, but I have four siblings from my birthmother. When I was born open adoptions were not very common, so my adoption was closed. I started becoming curious about my biological family when I was 16 and started searching for them at 18. My parents supported me all along the way! It was my mom who eventually found an address after a long hunt when I was 24. I used this address to write a letter to my birth mom, and to my joy, she responded that she was glad I found her! She and her family have become like extended family. The person I have become closest to from this part of my family is my older brother. He is two years older than I am. Even though we grew up apart, we are now like best friends!
I have a Bachelors Degree in Communications. I have worked primarily as an event and volunteer coordinator for the past five years. It has given me a great sense of confidence and accomplishment. My goal for the future is to be a stay at home mom so I can focus on being there for our children. My goal as a mother is to raise children who know the Lord and love and support each other.
Hi there! My name is Shane. I feel like I am a driven person that can get along with almost anyone. While I like to be around other people socializing, I also enjoy being alone working on a project. I was fortunate enough to attend college where I studied construction management. I currently work for a home builder as a construction manager. My position in the company gives me the opportunity to organize and direct the construction of residential homes while still being involved with the hard work I was used to growing up. I love my job because I am able to see a project start and progress into something we can be proud of. Before we moved to Texas, I worked in a cabinet shop with my dad and grandpa. This taught me a great deal of wood working skills that I use constantly today. As I look at my experiences with my dad and my grandpa, I want to be the father they were to me. I saw the time they spent with me and saw how much they cared for me. I want my children to know how important they are.
My faith is a very important aspect of my life. I spent two years as a missionary in Portugal where I shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Portuguese people. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to feel their Heavenly Father's love for them. I hope to provide my family with opportunities to feel this love for themselves. My wife and I attend regular church meetings and volunteer in the community in order to better help those around us. The experiences that we have gained in doing this have brought us together in our marriage.
