About Us

Our Story

Our story begins in 2006 when we first met in the Member Services department of a mid-size credit union in St. Paul, MN.

We were friends and co-workers for over 6 years and in that time, we discovered we had a lot of common interests, morals, and values - not to mention the same level of nerdiness and a similar sense of humor!

That background provided a great foundation for a relationship when we began dating in 2012, and then when we married in September 2014.

We are each other's best friends without a doubt. We support each other and challenge each other to be the best person we can be, and we will do the same when it comes time to parent a child.

As a couple, we're most likely to be found cooking together and joking around with each other. We also love taking walks together - either around the neighborhood or at a nearby park, and spending time with family and friends.

Our Home

photo of adoptive family's home We had the opportunity to buy our "dream house" back in December 2016! Located in Blaine, MN (just northwest of the Twin Cities), we are the proud owners of a 5-bedroom home within walking distance of a community playground.

In our backyard is Pioneer Park, a scenic nature preserve with plenty of walking paths surrounded by beautiful wilderness! Our neighborhood is nice and quiet, with many young families.

Within a mile of our home, we have access to several high-quality daycare facilities and 2 different elementary schools, so we are in the perfect place to raise a family!

One of the five bedrooms in our house is already partially-furnished to care for a little one whenever he or she comes along. Over our time at the new house, we have acquired many items for a baby, including a Pack-and-Play, a bassinet, a swing, a jumper seat, a stroller/carseat combo, and a floor gym.

Not to mention, we have a large collection of stuffed animals, many toys for all different age ranges, as well as a whole library of books waiting to be read to a little one!

Some of the books in the baby's library are Dr. Seuss, Sesame Street, Disney, Berenstain Bears, among many more! Almost all of these books were Annie's when she was a child.

Also part of our home are our two cats - Jack and Penny.

Jack is 12 and is everybody's best friend. He's very chubby, very vocal, and he loves a good session of belly rubs.

Penny is 8 and is a bit more on the shy side. She and Annie bonded very early on, when Penny was only 6 days old - and she's been Annie's shadow ever since.

They both get along well with kids and would be great protectors for the baby.

About Annie

adoptive family photo - Annie Annie was born in 1984 and grew up in Maplewood, Minnesota. She has 1 younger sibling, a sister named Katie. She grew up close to her many first and second cousins - 20 total on both sides!

Her parents divorced in 1993 but remain friends to this day. Neither have remarried.

Annie graduated North St. Paul High School in 2002 and went on to obtain an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from Century College.

She began working at Hiway Federal Credit Union in 2006, and has worked her way up from being a Member Service Representative to an Operations and Technical Trainer, which she considers her dream job.

Annie has no problem speaking or performing in front of groups of people - she grew up in choir and show choir and now as a trainer, she performs by teaching fellow employees new processes, concepts, and software.

Annie is an avid writer and loves to sing. She also has an artistic side and loves doing different kinds of crafts.

She can most often be found doing one of these crafts or writing, with one of her two cats purring in her lap.
