Hi there! We are Ryan and Kerry! We’d like to start off by thanking you for taking the time to review our profile as prospective adoptive parents. This part of the profile is always the hardest to write because there are no words to express how truly grateful we are for the sacrifice you are making. We are just honest, funny people that want to expand our family and share our love to another child.
We me through Ryan’s sister. After a failed attempt to get her to ask Kerry to come to a Jimmy Fallon show with them, we eventually saw each other out again. Ryan used the game Words with Friends to chat with Kerry through the game, where he asked her out and they’ve been together since. During their relationship they traveled a lot, went to a lot of concerts and enjoying dating and each other’s company.
We got engaged in Central park and then both of our sisters and their spouses were at a restaurant to surprise us after! It was the hottest day of the year so Kerry knew it was coming, otherwise Ryan wouldn’t have still agreed to go into the city. We married in July of 2014 in a Catholic church and then had an outside reception in the gardens of a beautiful old estate. We then took a once in a lifetime honeymoon to Europe. We toured 7 countries in 19 days. We knew we wanted to have children right away so we wanted to go on a huge trip knowing it could be awhile before we did anything like that again.
We talked about adoption before marriage because Kerry has PCOS and we knew we could be facing some issues. We were fortunate to conceive quickly and naturally and our daughter was born in July 2015. Delivery was great and we were sent home. Complications developed 2 weeks after birth which we would find out after a challenging 2 years later that we weren’t going to be able to conceive again. We never hesitated to go back to our adoption plan.
We are open to race and gender and whatever preference the birth parents would like upon finalization. We will always have an open policy and will respect and honor what you decide.
We’re getting ready to go to the pool! Kerry’s parents have a pool that we go to all summer! It’s nice because the grandkids are usually all there at the same time so everyone plays all day and spends time outdoors away from the tv and iPads. We also have an aunt with a shore house that we like to get to as much as possible! We get outside all year long but we like to really take advantage of the nice weather and the long days. NJ has a lot of good produce so we go picking fruits and veggies as much as we can! Last night we took out our telescope that has been collecting dust for 2 years! We saw nothing because we don’t know what we are doing but we’ll try again tonight lol.
So we weren’t really sure where to put this information but our adoption plan is very open but also respectful of the birth parents wishes. If you’d like a closed adoption we will honor that but on our end it will always be open if you change your mind. We are currently with an agency but should we make a connection on this site we would proceed with our adoption lawyer. Please do not hesitate to contact us or him us or him if you’re interested in getting to know us better!
