Matt and his girls met Megan at a Christmas party 8 years ago. It’s Hard to describe when you meet the love(s) of your life, but when you do, you just know it. We surprised the girls with a ‘family wedding/elopement, and have been married for 4 years now and truly love doing life together. From the day we met until now, our family motto has been “Say Yes To Life”. We try everyday, to live in a way where we are present for each other and our loved ones. Matt owns an insurance agency working with Senior citizens, and Megan is a chef and owns a prepared meal and delivery company. Our oldest daughter Olivia, is a freshman in college, and our youngest daughter Addy is in 8th grade. They are both so excited to be big sisters and to have a baby in the house to love and dote on. As a couple and family, we love doing anything we can do together. Rock climbing, hiking, camping, movie nights, traveling, being outdoors, and laughing. Laughing is our FAVORITE thing to do (especially at Matt’s bad Dad jokes). Whatever we do, we have fun doing it, and truly love spending time together as a family.
What led us to adoption:
Megan has always had a heart for adoption, and has had such joy co-parenting Matt’s girls for the last 8 years. This past year, in our journey to add a new baby to our family, adoption became the clear and perfect choice for us. We are over the moon excited to be given the opportunity to grow our family through the gift of adoption, and to bring the missing piece of our family home. Megan’s grandparents were foster parents and adoptive parents and that had a huge impact on her growing up. We’ve also seen the boundless joy and special bond that adoption can bring to a family through Matt’s sister, who has adopted 3 of her 4 children. Your baby will have a circle of love and support from family members who can truly relate to every aspect of your child’s journey.
We live in a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom ranch style home on over an acre of land. We have a large, beautiful vegetable garden that we love tending to and eating from during Spring and Summer Months. Our neighborhood is an amazing community of families both young and old, and has a neighborhood pool that looks as though it came straight out of the Brady Bunch era. We have several close friends in the neighborhood that we do everything with, from Christmas caroling, trick-or-treating, backyard BBQs, game nights, sleepovers, and even camping.
Matt’s mother lives with us, in her own private suite within our home, and we love having grandma(Bebe) around all the time! We also have a whopping total of 16 pounds of fluffy dogs. Yogi and Pepper are small, hypoallergenic Yorkie-Poos, and are the snuggliest pups you’ve ever met. We live in Middle Tennessee and are 20 minutes from the heart of Music City. There are hundreds of museums, parks, concerts, family festivals, professional sports teams, and so many other activities we love doing for our family outings and cannot wait to experience them with your child as he or she grows. We absolutely feel so blessed to live where we do.
Matt has one sister, who lives just across town with her family. We spend most holidays with them, and love getting together for family time, food, and fun. Matt’s dad and step mom live nearby as well, and can’t wait to be grandparents again! Matt’s oldest nephew also lives nearby with his wife and 2 year old son who is very excited to have a new playmate!
Megan comes from a large extended family on both sides. She has one sister, who lives in South Dakota and has a beautiful family with 3 Kids. They live just down the street from Megan’s mother. Megan’s dad and step mom live in Oklahoma and love coming to visit us and sometimes even vacation with us to warm, sunny places! Megan is one of 30 cousins on both sides of her family. Every few years Megan’s family has a large Slovakian family reunion in Pennsylvania. Between all the cousins, Amusements parks, swimming pools, laughter and food, we always have more fun than should be legally allowed!
We both have aunts, uncles and cousins, that are all within 45-60 minutes from us, and we love getting to visit with them as often as possible.
Your child will most definitely grow up with a large and loving family close by.
