Our son, Anders is just the sweetest, most precious child that has finally fulfilled our dream of becoming parents!
His adoption story is such a beautiful story filled with Gods love and grace. After taking a break from fertility treatments to pray and decide what to do to start our family, God put adoption on our hearts.
In the beginning of 2017, we started the home study process, which was quite the process and took almost 6 months. Shortly after our home study and online profile was complete, we learned of a potential match with a Birth Mother. She wanted two things for her unborn son. 1. A Christian Couple to raise him 2. To bless a couple that could not conceive that could provide a life for him that she financially could not. After our first initial conversations, we flew to her state to meet her and shortly after started the process to prepare to meet our son in November. We planed out our nursery and our friends hosted a shower for us. Matthew 17:20 quickly came to mind “Faith as small as a mustard seed will move mountains”. Both our nursery and shower are move mountain themed. The mountain necklace I wear and many others that have supported us along the way, including our Birth Mother, is symbolic of how God can move mountains in all situations.
A couple weeks prior to her due date, our Birth Mother called us saying she was going into labor. We took the red eye that evening and arrived at the hospital at 9am when she had just gone into the operating room. Anders was born at 9:22am and we met him just minutes later in the adjacent recovery room. It was the most special time of our lives that we will forever cherish.
The hospital was amazing and let us stay overnight while we awaited the time frame our Birth Mother had to legally wait until she could sign. The whole weekend was filled with grace and although the wait still seemed long, we had a sense of peace. She continually had reassured us of her decision and afterwards said she felt like a better person that had served a purpose by blessing us with a child. We are beyond grateful and she will always have a special place in our hearts and prayers.
Anders is so special to us and we wouldn’t have his arrival any other way. He is the happiest little boy that brings joy to everyone he meets. His sweet little face is a daily reminder that God can do the impossible.
