Brian & Sara

Dear Birth Mother,

We commend you for making the courageous and honorable decision to choose adoption. Thank you so much for looking at our profile page and considering us to be parents. We have been happily married for 11 years. After a long road of infertility, we became parents through the blessing of adoption. Our son has brought such great joy to our lives. Our Birth Mother has a special place in our hearts and prayers. We have always wanted 2 children and would love to complete our family through adoption. We truly believe God has his hand on this connection between us seeking to adopt and you considering allowing us to adopt your child.

Who We Are

We met while attending college at Colorado State University. It was Christmas break and we were at a mutual friend's apartment. We talked about how we had not used our ski passes as much as we had hoped. Sara said it was because she didn't have a car and Brian said, "I have a car, do you want to go to Breckenridge tomorrow?" She said yes and we enjoyed a fun filled day of skiing. Sara returned to her apartment eager to tell her best friend/ future Maid of Honor about her new crush. We are so happy together as a married couple and love our lives, family, friends and the amazing city we live in. We are also so thankful to be planted in an amazing church.

Our biggest blessing is our Son, Anders. After a long road of infertility, we adopted him in 2017 at birth. His adoption story is filled with Gods love and grace. His Birth Mother will forever have a special place in our hearts and prayers. We love sharing his amazing story. (We will share in the adoption diary / blog). Being parents has been the best, most incredible and fulfilling journey that we are forever grateful for. We strive to be the best parents always.

We have a truly incredible family. Although we live in different cities across the US, we are very close and are blessed to spend time together frequently. Brian’s Parents live in Colorado and Montana. Sara's parents live in Chicago. Together we have 5 nephews and a niece. We truly love seeing our little niece and nephews and can't wait for them to become cousins to our children.

Brian's Grandpa, Hollister, recently turned 95 and we flew to Colorado for a family birthday celebration. All of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren traveled from all over the US to celebrate this very special occasion. Hollister is a family legend that books could be written about. He is a clever and wise man with the most amazing heart. He has inspired Brian to forever strive to be the man, husband, parent, and friend that his grandpa is.

For the holidays we usually host family and friends in San Diego for Thanksgiving and travel to Chicago for Christmas to visit Sara's family. We attend the late Christmas Eve service, where we were married. On Christmas Day, we have cousins come over and enjoy a Swedish smorgasbord. Brian's family gets together every other year for a Family Reunion in Montana. We get to enjoy outdoor activities and dinners with extended family and Grandparents.

We volunteer for the kid's program at our church and get to spend time with numerous children. We believe God called us to do this so we could see how the love we will have for an adopted child is no different than if it was our child naturally. We also enjoy spending time with our family and friends. Whether it is going out to a new restaurant, entertaining at our home, attending church together or celebrating special occasions, we cherish all the people we are blessed to do life with. We are health conscience and enjoy staying active. We love the outdoors and hiking together as a family.

We are so excited to be starting the process to adopt and complete our family. Your child will be so loved and cared for as part of our family. We genuinely thank you for considering to bless us with another child. We look forward to getting to know you.

Adoption Diary

Verse for our Adoption Journey : 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14

We are grateful for the verses God has given us to pray over our adoption process. We prayed Matthew 17:20 “Faith Moves Mountains” over Anders Adoption. As we begin our 2nd Adoption Journey, this powerful verse from 1st Corinthians came to us. God miraculously answered our prayer the first time around and we full hearty know He will do it again.

1 CORINTHIANS 16: 13-14
13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 14 Do everything in love.

What it means to us:

We will keep our family safe, free from harm. We will protect and watch over our family with God in the center of it all.

We will trust in God. He is the author and finisher. We declare his hand of protection, love and grace will be over us and our Birth Mother through the adoption process and beyond.

We will be brave and trust God; praying and believing for the best outcome for all of us; our family, our Birth Mother and future child all the days of our lives.

We will be mentally powerful and vigorous. We will stand for what we believe and know in our hearts its truth.

God is love. We will passionately shine His light in all that we do.

Anders Adoption Story

Our son, Anders is just the sweetest, most precious child that has finally fulfilled our dream of becoming parents!

His adoption story is such a beautiful story filled with Gods love and grace. After taking a break from fertility treatments to pray and decide what to do to start our family, God put adoption on our hearts.

In the beginning of 2017, we started the home study process, which was quite the process and took almost 6 months. Shortly after our home study and online profile was complete, we learned of a potential match with a Birth Mother. She wanted two things for her unborn son. 1. A Christian Couple to raise him 2. To bless a couple that could not conceive that could provide a life for him that she financially could not. After our first initial conversations, we flew to her state to meet her and shortly after started the process to prepare to meet our son in November.  We planed out our nursery and our friends hosted a shower for us. Matthew 17:20 quickly came to mind “Faith as small as a mustard seed will move mountains”. Both our nursery and shower are move mountain themed. The mountain necklace I wear and many others that have supported us along the way, including our Birth Mother, is symbolic of how God can move mountains in all situations.

A couple weeks prior to her due date, our Birth Mother called us saying she was going into labor. We took the red eye that evening and arrived at the hospital at 9am when she had just gone into the operating room. Anders was born at 9:22am and we met him just minutes later in the adjacent recovery room. It was the most special time of our lives that we will forever cherish.

The hospital was amazing and let us stay overnight while we awaited the time frame our Birth Mother had to legally wait until she could sign. The whole weekend was filled with grace and although the wait still seemed long, we had a sense of peace.  She continually had reassured us of her decision and afterwards said she felt like a better person that had served a purpose by blessing us with a child. We are beyond grateful and she will always have a special place in our hearts and prayers.

Anders is so special to us and we wouldn’t have his arrival any other way. He is the happiest little boy that brings joy to everyone he meets. His sweet little face is a daily reminder that God can do the impossible.

Thank You for Visiting Our Adoption Profile
